Honest truth - my repairs wouldn't be HALF of what they are without having seen his channel. Very grateful!

I love the channel and positive attitude you have with everything you're faced with. I found your channel looking for how to restore a 55 Chevy and I'm enjoying the hell out your content. I've been binge watching everything you're doing and am very encouraged to get started on mine. Great job! Great channel! And great content! Looking forward to seeing Christine finished. Cheers!

I'm trying to keep it light and informative. But I'm no expert - I don't want to claim to be. I'm just a regular guy infected with too much DIY spirit! I expect to be getting into body filler in the coming months and hope to have it painted before spring. There ought to be a lot of good content ahead!

Bill another great video on sheet metal repair. I’m starting in on my 56 and after watching your videos I am gaining some confidence to tackle some of sheet metal repairs on my 56. Thanks for the video education and the boost in confidence to give it a try myself.

Unless you've got damage in only a few select spots, by the time you end up replacing inner rockers and patching beams, AND working overhead... It's just worth it to bite the bullet and spend the bucks. Hopefully you'll be able to get yours before too long!

It was nice to be able to look at that and dive right in with the exact fix without fretting over it. Now that I've figured out how to do that, I don't need to do it anymore! Figures!

Looks like it fit pretty good....I used to have a body manual for tri-fives that told all the dimentions of all the body and frame components...good to know what they're supposed to be even thou you gotta go with the flow most of the time...keep cookin....its lookin....

You know, I've got a body manual that I've had for 15 years that I just ran across, covered in dust on the way-back shelf. I haven't even cracked it back open yet. It might help!

You did a fine job of bracing, wish I had done something like that. Mine is not as easily maneuverable through when replacing the floor panels.

If you heard me say it at least a dozen times, "I'm tired!" THAT'S what can be so tiring! All of the climbing in and out of those monkey bars! I'd climb through and around and settle into a spot to work, only to find that I needed a tool that was on the bench. Up and down, up and down! It's exhausting! - Thanks for keeping up with the project and best of luck with yours!

Great job. I have a 55 4 door wagon that I’m in the process of doing. Does yours also have body mounts on your front floor pans?
@RestoringChristine1956
@RestoringChristine1956 2 года назад
Thanks! Episode 19 is the unboxing full review of the pan. I'm not sure what pieces you're referring to, bit when I flipped it upside down, you can see all of the attachments that come already mounted.

I had to come back to this video to see your toe panels. I'm replacing mine completely and needed to see the small L shaped brackets that are right next to the kick boards. Mine are to far gone from rust and the toe panel doesn't come with them
@RestoringChristine1956
@RestoringChristine1956 Год назад
The only thing that I missed on this install was that the corners of the floor at the kick panel is not a sharp point. I had to cut and beat just that area to make it fit. It was very close, but it was so rusty when I made the flange on the kick panel that it interfered. But we got it in!
@mikelawler2278

@restoringChristine1956 Thank you for that heads up. I'll be doing the floor pan when it cools. I have a small gap I'll likely have to make a filler for right at the lower corner on each side. The floor pan will confirm if it's necessary

So much corrosion and rot but your don't seem deterred. Your repairs came out really nice and the floor pan looks fantastic. I am glad you got a hall pass to continue working. One quick question. Have you ever dealt with this level of repair before?
@RestoringChristine1956
@RestoringChristine1956 2 года назад
Yes! I did a 1971 Cutlass convertible between 2013-2016 that needed a new floor and trunk. Check out Episode 1 for the story and Episodes 15.1 through 15.5 that highlight the Cutlass at Cruisin' the Coast this past October.
