What’s the purpose of the filler neck in between pump and radiator ? The OE expansion tank on a 328i burps just fine and easy to fill. I run after market koyo rad and I just used OE expansion tank ans it’s great just seems like another failure point to add in coolant system with that neck in between pump ans rad ?
Great question. My entire goal with the cooling system on this car was to make it as simple as possible and get rid of any potential failure points. So along with deleting the expansion tank and replacing it with the inline filler neck, I also deleted the heater lines, the throttle body coolant lines and all the coolant lines that run under the intake manifold. This left me with only the radiator hoses which means that any coolant leaks will be obvious and working on the engine will be super easy since I won't have to deal with any of the coolant lines that would usually run under the intake manifold. Hope this answers your question!
Hello Jam drifts or Jamie I doubt you will see this message but I have recently been watching your videos and they are inspiring. I've been fighting a misfire in my e36 for almost a year now and at a loss. I've narrowed it down to the fact the car seems to only register the first fuel bank in the ecu as it was previously turboed, I've tried multiple different tuned ecu's, and everything down to the plugs, multiple crank sensors and all that has been had multiple thrown at it. The whole engine harness was swapped as it didnt have front o2's. The timing was off a tooth and just finished getting done.. and it didnt change the problem, let alone change how the car ran at all. Most of that is all back to stock and it still wont show a second bank which causes an odd misfire under max load after a certain duration, if car is turned off the car will reset and the car could drive without issue until it goes under max load again and after a certain duration but the duration seems to get shorter as the car repeats this and gets hot I think i dont know (but for example trying to push the car through an event it seems to come back quicker). So many channels are so BMW focused and I like the more basic car work style/chill just throwing shit on that works. Bummed to see you dont make videos it seems anymore which is understandable if your not much into drifting anymore, but I hope your doing well if you see this!
I totaled my 323 is a few days ago. But the engine is still great only 95k on it. I have a 318ti and I just started the process for the swap 3 days ago..I'm obsessed with the project now. Bro your dope as fuck for putting these videos up it's really helping me since I have never swapped a engine. Thank-you!
I had to switch over to a cluster out of a 328i. If I remember correctly, it was because the rpms weren’t reading correctly on the stock 318ti cluster.
