Hey Alex! Not sure if you are still seeing comments on your older videos but I still come back and watch these whenever I am planning something on my car! I have already done a few upgrades and added a 77mm pulley and RaceIQ tune and I’m wanting to finish the rest of my E55 supporting mods this year and parts are beginning to be discontinued. I found just about the last set of Maximizer long tube headers in the country and I already have a looped fuel rail and think I am going to go ahead and do the 550cc injectors ‘while I’m in there’, and I found a deal I don’t think I can pass up on a complete 82mm TB, ported intake and spacer and even comes with the factory SL intake tube to keep the factory boxes. It’s completely stock appearing and I have always preferred that sleeper look but I whacked an HOV marker the other day and busted my bumper and lost the center mesh grill but I can’t decide if I like the E63 bumper or just fix the broken one and get it repainted while it’s off to do the intercoolers. I have spent a ton of money with FCP Euro, VRP and, most recently, MK Ultra, and I only have a few parts left to be ‘full bolt-ons’ and if I’m going to tear it down that far, I only want to do it once and I already have an email drafted for Tony at RaceIQ to get the tune I will need for the final stage of mods. I can’t wait to get to the finished product and I would not have even thought about owning an AMG had I not seen that first video 4 years ago and I feel like you have been there every step of the way through my build. Thanks for your amazing content and it’s only a matter of time before #legitstreetcars gets offered your own show! Best car content on RU-vid!
Yesssssss! More E55 content. (Rolls up sleeve and tries to jam phone into vein). Keep it up my man, my SBC is jacked so I have to live through you for the next week
FYI these guys are saying mercedes extended the sbc warranty to 25 years and you can get a payout if you've already had it fixed mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/718847-sbc-warranty-extended-25-years.html
Super interested in owning an E55 one day, so I learn what I can from your vids. Huge pluses are the reliability and modifiability in this segment of the RWD luxury performance sedan market. Great vids!
I have seen people doing that but in the end I don think it does much. I ended up using some heat tape under there for a methanol line. That will be in the next video though. Alex
Awesome videos buddy, I got my self a 05 e55 with some body damage, but only 53k miles! Love your channel, and I want to completely copy your set up I hope you don't mind lol
Thanks Eric. I wish I could put one out everyday but unfortunately my real jobs and kids come first. I can't wait to fire her up and get the tune done. So pumped! Alex
Hey not sure if it helps anyone out there, but if you ever have a belt squeal you can't get rid of, use Coffeemate, the white powdery stuff, and rub it into the ribs of the belt and put a bit on the pulleys (With the engine off!!), get it all over if you want it's cheap stuff, but when you run the engine again the squeal should disappear :)
Hello. Quick questions. Fuel pump related. Are the fuel pumps, both pumps should work on idle only? Only one pump working with my case. Im having low rpm underboost feel. My fuel pressure psi is at 55 only. When I accelerate it needs momentum after 3k rpm everything is olay again. No engine fault code. Most wear and tear parts and most sensors were replace except knock sensors. No air leak. Hope you can give tips to rule this out. Thanks
What do you think about doing a 70mm clutched SC pulley and a 90mm throttle body with a 3.5-inch intake? I currently have a stock intake, stock SC pulley, a 180mm crank pulley and a 010 intercooler pump with long tube headers and a tune from OE Tuning.
Hello alex.thanks much for all your vidéos about Amg.I take out my supercharger of my engine. My god it's very heavy. How do you make to put it safty in your engine? Sorry for my english
N Piper Oh man that's tough. I mean obviously the LS is way cheaper, available and easy to swap. Overall if I could only have one engine for the rest of my life, it would be the LS in general. This engine is just so good as well. With this small supercharger it's hard to see its real potential. I'd love to see how it performs on E85 and a massive blower, or turbo.
Alex How the hell do u get the bottom half off to get to the center bolt on the pluem... I took a block of wood and mallet still wouldn't break free!!!
Love your build dude. Been following it ever since i decided i wanted to swap out my e46 m3 for an e55. Do you feel the larger coolant tank is necessary?
I don't think its going to make or break a setup. I really wanted it to put ice in at track. The larger capacity is nice but at the end of the day it just prolongs heat soak. I'm finishing the water/meth kit right now. I think that is a very worth while mod and Ill know a lot more if I can make it to the dyno and track all this week.
Thanks for the reply! Yea I am definitely looking at doing more of a fun street build than I am a drag strip build. Would you consider talking about good mods for a mild street build in a video? I am looking into doing pulley, tune, maybe throttle body. Heat exchanger and maybe a bigger IC pump. But I think I am going to stop short of meth injection and an ice tank.
Hi Alex i appreciate your videos. I have a 2003 E55 and I don't want to go crazy with the mods on my car but i was wondering do I really need a tune if I just change my stock 74 mm throttle body for the 82 mm or if I just change the supercharger pulley for a smaller one?any of these need a tune specially if I want to keep the consumption on the car as close as possible to what it is now? I feel a hesitation on my throttle body on low RPMs and after your experience with the 82 mm throttle body would you still recommend it? Or just go ahead and do a hard reset on my stock one like you did beating up your car in another video? lastly do I really have to take the supercharger off if I want to port the snout for the 82mm throttle body? Or there is another way around it to change the snout?thank u
Do you always use silicone on paper gaskets? Or maybe just select ones? Just to ensure you don't have to take the blower off again for a leak? Lol. Reason I ask is why not just use silicone? Spacing?
shawnmeyer44 Depends on what I'm working with but in general I like to put a thin layer of quality rtv on gaskets. I've always had good results doing that and following torque specs. For the TB, it's a custom bore so no gasket would fit without boring it so I figured the rtv would be perfect in that case

I have never seen them leak on the 32 or 55 cars but I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard of a fix. They are mostly rubber lines going to the intercooler and HE.
LegitStreetCars , it was a huge issue with many c32s. I have one so I know more about them. The actual core inside the inter cooler leaked on many of them including mine. No way to fix it only can replace it. Also a p.i.a. Cuz you have to remove the charger to get to the inter cooler under it.
How you doing, I have a question. I have a 2005 E55. I need to replace my front sub frame, can I remove it from the ground without pulling the motor with it? Or is the motor fully connected to it?
@LegitStreetCars I also have a E55 2006. I have a power steering leak. Is there any advice or any website that I could find parts? I took it to my local mechanic shop and they can’t find a hose that it leaking. And needs to be from the dealer.
Hey alex, I have 05 CL55 amg. I have 83mm pulley eith supercharged ecu/TCU and alot more upgrades. I want more boost. Do you think it's good idea to go with 74/72mm or clutch less pulley? Thanks!
Love the C32. Basically the same engine minus two cylinders. Great little car and you can do very similar mods. It wont be as fast as the E55 but still really quick and very fun. No airmatic to deal with as well. Alex
Is it in viable to get an NA M113 and find a used s/c to convert it to an M113k? I can't find reliable info on this online. If someone were to upgrade their s/c anyways it makes sense to overhaul a used one to add to the NA engine. Is the compression on the two engines that different?
will that supercharger fit on s550 5.5L im not trying drop 10grand for an new one and do they have pulley upgrade for more power if that supercharger dont work
Hi alex Tommel up:) I following your video .. i'am so close to buy a e 55. After ill have sine your video. What should I be aware of before buying the Mercedes e55 ?? I am from Denmark. and I'm not very keen on English. So if you don't quite understand me. I hope you have some patience .. Kind regards Nicolai
What do you think that box does to transmission? Because for example in w124 the automatic transmission is said to last longer if it is tuned for hard shifts instead of longer and smoother shifts. Is this like same thing or am i completely wrong xd don’t know basically anything of the mechanics of cars, this thought just came into my mind :) nice vid as always, can’t wait for the test drive vid
Hi Alex!! My name is Doug. I love all your videos!! And my dream car is your E55!! I have a question if you have a moment sir. What do you know and think about the 2004 Audi S4? My dad has one and its awesome! I want to get one and you were the firs person I thought about to ask. Thank you!!!
I noticed the Underhood liner has been removed. Have you noticed any issues with it removed? Are there any benefits to it being removed? There are a lot of people saying it helps to dissipate engine heat and makes the supercharger whine more audible. Is there any truth to this? Or was it removed when you purchased the car? I would love to hear more whine and have less heat.
It was removed by the previous owner. I haven't had any issues without it there and I've driven the car in the rain a few times. I don't think it does much for supercharger whine and I doubt it does anything noticeable for intake air temps.
