Wow!!! Thank you for showing all this. It is really awesome. I was lucky enough to get to set in the front seat of an F14 one time at my local air and space museum. I don't think I felt the ground for about a week. I had a very small idea of what I was looking at but WOW!. It was one of the greatest 15 minutes of my life.

I smile when you talk about landing on the boat. It’s the airmen’s way of snubbing the surface vessel sailors who always refer to it as the ship. 😁

I got out in 1992 and the F/A-18C Legacy single seat was considered top of the line. I certainly would have never thought that the Hornet would be the full range of carrier operations. The E/F/G model takes multi mission to a whole new level!. Great detailed walk around and explanation…

In regards to the right main wheel well what he referred to as the APU Exhaust, that was actually where you hook up an external air source to spin the engines over if you don't have a working APU. The APU exhaust is on the centerline of the plane. Worked on the D model for 3 years and in charging handle is in a different spot, but pretty similar

Except for extremely short un-refueled legs, killer platform. Few decades ago, friend of mine worked this program from Navel Avionics in Indy. Range was Prowler’s advantage. Otherwise this was several fold more advanced tech. Thanks for the content. Many fighters including Growler are AOA sabotage away from ever getting in the air. In air, AOA failure away from a bad day.

Great walk around. I’ve got over a thousand hands on hours with the legacy and Super hornets as well as the Growlers, aka Rhinos (same airframe). Even though the F/A-18 Super is a very intensive and great platform to work with, I still prefer the F-14. It was MUCH MORE forgiving for many reasons, which I will not go into right now, because my post would be around 20K words at least. Your content quality is immaculate.

Coming from the A-7 the BRU-32 bomb rack is like a Hugo to a Cadillac. Right about hand level one person holds the rack and the other pulls the “Horseshoe “ bolts and slides right out.. for the normal Hornet the wingtip launcher would be a sidewinder. Try folding or spreading wings by hand one at a time on the boat. Either blocked on one side or no external power cord available….. oh yeah then have to fold again manually after loading the winder.

Never really understood why they didn’t give the 18 30,000 per engine. We have various turbofans with that range and higher that they could have made work with this airframe. It would have made the aircraft have a better carrier takeoff with the higher weight. Really surprised they haven’t modernized the 18 since the growler platform is so new. Full color touch screens would be very beneficial in that aircraft. I respect the Super Hornet but still believe it’s not the aircraft that the Navy deserved nor did they deserve the F/A-18 A. I believe they deserved their own Air Superiority fighter and a separate aircraft platform like the A-6 for the primary bombing and electronic warfare missions. They should have gotten a fighter platform that was equal to or better than the F-15 leaning more towards the F-22 capabilities.

The Growler is a superjet and with him is the Navy ever a winner! Nobody from hostile Nations has such a jet! This jet was a game changer in the Cold War and saved lives of much American pilots. Without this jet is possible that a better jet of another Nation can shoot some American jets down. The Russian attempts to create a counter part were not successful! Their jets are too big like the Beriev and didn't understand what they really do. The pilots of this jet can feel as a important for the air superiority of the USA. Like the,, Red Eagles" they are the best of the Best!
