They have no competition in the F1 license - for WRC, they have to surpass the WRC series from Kylotonn and their career mode. They jump exactly as high as the bar is (and for F1 the bar is very low).
Unfortunately the gameplay we've seen so far doesn't promise good physics the rotation looks really weird. This is gonna be the gran Turismo of rally games. Rich on content, adequate at physics
@@Peterdeskater100 Thats how I've been feeling. The way the cars rotate look super weird. But they did a good job with DR2.0 aside from the tarmac handling so hopefully they've got it nailed for this. We won't know til it comes out I guess. I'm hoping the weird rotation is because they're using a controller for the previews we've seen instead of a wheel.
I know this is a small request, but the staggered starts from Dirt 3 would be an incredible addition for online lobbies. Being able to come across stranded drivers and have to deal with them when going for a fast stage would be incredible
@@Baleygrr You could add a ghosting system to prevent other players from crashing into you. Would break the immersion somewhat, but it would solve the problem. I doubt they'll include a staggered start system though, especially if lobbies support up to 32 players. People would just spend way too much time waiting in a queue before hitting the stage. It made more sense in Dirt 3 since lobbies only supported up to 8 players from memory.
@@TobiasEriksson88 This is a VIDEO GAME. I will not be waiting 5 minutes to start a rally stage in an online match because everyone is starting in front of me.
Interesting thing I noticed: the reverse versions of stages are not 1:1 with the original stage. There are cut-off sections of road and even some entirely new sections that are unique to the reverse version. This will certainly help full events feel a bit more varied than they felt in DR2.
I canceled the pre-order. 18 rallies and 18 special stages. ridiculous. How can we propose a long stage for each rally in 2023, shorten it, change direction of travel and name? one must get bored and run by heart after a week of buying the game. instead of proposing a long test, wasn't it better to take (600km:18 rally= 33.3km/ rally) 11km from three different real tests and do their reverse? this is not rallying. Children who only drive hotlaps will be happy to talk about world records. the real rally unfortunately still remains on RBR thanks to the modders
@@_salvadorr I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes some more time to get the sound of newer cars perfect, especially having to emulate the sound of the hybrid system. But if the sound of group B cars or cars like the Kadett GTE could be the same as DR 2.0 I would be delighted !

no nothing to do with GT, its because the World RX license from IMG 2.0 had is now defunct, World RX is also is a pretty bad spot as it is, and unfortuantly it wasnt very popular in 2.0 @@adriansmithmusic

yes me 2 - But i do miss that they are a little active and takes some time to at least answer some of the more specific questions like. Will it be Virtual Reality compatible, and If it's No! Then will it be in the future if No again? well that's that. I'm simply cutting down on the bying of Race games, and NO VR is probably the reason from now on. To me it's pure laziness Not to add VR today.. :)
@@Celestial_Maiden Mmm, I think the pace will be quite slow. (In real life these kind of rallies are often driven in traffic, if I understood correctly.) So it would keep you from trying to push, if anything. :)
Just here for the builder mode, because it looks so interesting!! I just hope I'll be able to use it in any offline mode as well as allow the opponents to use what you've created if competitive rallycross can make a return here.

I am excited for this one. I’m glad they are adding so much more. Been waiting to be able to build my own rally car in WRC for awhile. So many ideas ready to come to life!
I really hope there will be the simple daily, weekly and monthly online events from Dirt Rally 1 and 2.0. This was a great way to just jump in for a few stages every day and compete with others at the same time.
I still see weird car glides on tarmac while approaching and exiting corners. Really hoping this is pre-release footage and the final physics will be more refined on tarmac. The feeling on Dirt Rally 2.0 was very weird, having been on a real track and driving since 25 years...
Hard to believe all this is only 49.99$. There’s so much to do. Can’t wait to play. I do miss the menus and UI from Dirt 3 and DR 2.0 but it does look good.
Also, if you nail the physics (like driving, damage, surface degradation because of weather and how many cars run through the stage before you and if you can, like Colin McRae: Dirt 2 and Dirt 3, racing against opponents in real time in the stage following those who are in front of you and with those who are following you behind), this game could be really amazing.

I for one would love a casual muiltiplayer gamemode where we can all be on stage at the same time. Trading paint and gettin' lost in the dust sounds fun.
I have so many rally games. WRC 5,6,7,8,9,10, Generations, Dakar 18, Dakar Desert Rally, Dirt 5, Dirt Rally 2.0, V Rally 4, Art of Rally. You RBR stans are so annoying... the game is very very old... good for your that you play it but when you keep spitting that it's by far the best rally game ever made you're just talking bullshit... the best DRIVING PHYSICS in break bias feeling and weight transfer belong to Dirt Rally 2.0... PERIOD... I've played RBR... it's fantastic for it's time but no, it's not better than a game 15 years younger than it with way more tyre modelling possibilities like DR 2.0 and way more refinement in the breaking and weight transfer (which is 90% of rally driving btw) . All that RBR has over DR 2.0 is the damage model... honestly, saying that "harder is better" cause you damage the car more easily is naive af... the best game is the one with the best driving Physics and RBR's quality has been blown WAAAAAY out of proportion by it's stans just because it was a masterpiece FOR IT'S TIME!!!
i see this as the good mix of wrc and dirt rally. while still not being dirt rally. I hope that a true 3.0 would grace this planet with its divine rallying experience.
please put local multiplayer up to 8 players. each player makes their rally with their car. Among friends we get together and use the same steering wheel. It's a lot of fun, and we laugh a lot.
Please CodeMasters, don't encrypt the camera files again (as was the case for the DLC cars in Dirt Rally 2.0) let us make adjustments to the camera setups of each vehicle, this is so important for enjoying the game properly. Or better yet, please include camera adjustment parameters for each view as part of the game! 👍
Stage lengths seem also at the average longer. Thank you for this so much! Please ensure that the end of stage countdowntimer can be turned entirely off this time. At least in a friends only session. It is very frustrating that it cant be disabled in DR 2.0 This comes even more important with these longer stages. So please dont disappoint here 🙏
i purely play daily/weekly/monthly challenges on dirt 2.0. I like seeing how I do on the leaderboards. Hoping for something similar that has me coming back everyday
Car list is awesome. Especially fiesta mk7 R5 evo, Peugeot 206 and focus rs mk1 2001, since I owned all road versions. Rally1 class is also exciting, can't wait to find out if they nailed sound and physics
If you manage (when you hire a teammate) to have statistics like Skill, Consistency, Awareness, Reactions, Agression and new statistics like Surface Skill (in which surface is more skillful and in which others is not), Weather Skill (in which weather conditions is more skillful and in which others is not), Night Driving Skill (in how skillful is when driving at night), Repairing Skill (in the Service Area and during the stage like changing flat tires) and (when you hire a Co-Driver for your teammate) to have statistics like which language does the Co-Driver speaks more fluently (example, the Co-Driver is japanese and speaks japanese but is also very fluently in speaking english), personality traits and characteristics, how good is he giving advices to your teammate, Stage Recce skills, etc., it could be really great to provide an Immersive and deep rally driving experience.
Please add support for PSVR2. Loved Dirt Rally on PSVR1 and loving GT7 on PSVR2. That sense of immersion is really the only thing that gets me interested in racing games.
I would love another more in depth free play mode! Dirt fish just didn't quite scratch the itch but was my favorite thing to jump into. The past WRC have had great free play areas to test cars and have fun!
I really like that it has a bit of everything for everyone, and so far this looks promising. I just hope those stats for the parts aren't tied to any lootboxes or anything of the like
I miss the days when racing games, despite the accuracies, would have minimal setup options so we could spend more time enjoying driving and less time having to fiddle with setups that some people have no idea how to adjust. Especially since every time I try to change a setup on any car in Dirt Rally, I never get good results no matter what I do
just dont touch them at all. theyre not required- crsedmicky barely uses any setups and he was the dirt rally 2 cup winner, not to mention all the WRs he has

6:01 I notice on the stage maps, that what appear to be reverses of a particular stage, have a different length and subtle changes to the routes, probably to add some variety when going over the same stages in a championship 👍
3:34 Love the extra detail in the leader boards! It's great to see things like penalty, assists and tuning included as well as player platform. But is it indicating input device on the left there as well, I could not quite make it out? That would be great if it will. But the best feature that the leader board needs is uploading of replays, if UE4 does support replays that just record player inputs (like so many other games do) then this should be possible and would totally open up the multiplayer aspect of the game for the better!

@@FirssenSimracing Lets not be to harsh, i mean, the whole point of automation is building a car from the ground up while on this game, its just a fun feature that, even not being too detailed, is enough for a player who just wants to experience the differences of a rally car with different parts and drivetrains, the focus of the game will probably be the driving physics, which automation lacks, even when ported do beamng

@@FirssenSimracingAutomation cars are noticeably worse than normal cars in BeamNG. Because they use a procedural generation process to convert them to be usable in BeamNG they're extremely limited in realism. I've been around BeamNG for 10 years and have been involved in the mod making scene for it a long time as well. So, trust me when I say that it's not actually that realistic or accurate. It's fun, and does an impressive job for what it is, but it's still significantly lower quality than the normal vehicles in BeamNG
4:38 The fact they are including a rally school like RBR seems to indicate that CodeMasters are going the extra mile with this one. But will there also be a free roam area like Dirt Fish location in DR 2.0? Because that was an essential feature in properly fine tuning a vehicles setup in DR 2.0 and will also be need here.
I Like the fact that we can play a WRC career directly. On the previous KT WRCs, no other choice than starting from a WRC2 career. A WRC game but playing with WRC2 cars ? what was the logic behind. We have asked to change this + improve the sound, nothing ever changed. Codemasters is the Real Deal !
Assuming that the game is stable and the handling is good, this could be a true next gen rally game experience. I'm still going to wait until after release before I decide to buy it though. Pre-ordering games is way too risky nowadays.
Hoping the game won’t be broken in some way on release e.g. major stuttering. I don’t preorder games either, best to wait a bit to check out the reactions from those who preorder or get the game early.
Thank god you can start in any class. Was so annnoyig going from WRC 9 to WRC 10 and being forced to play through the junior classes again even though it was bbasically the same game
I was surprised this was not shown, but I honestly think this feature will exist because you could do championships in all the old cars in DR 2.0. I mean what do they expect us to do with so many lovely old cars, just do time trials? I think they just didnt show it
@@mechanicalpants based on the video, you can still do championships just like you can in Freeplay in DR2.0, where you can customize everything including having a multi-restriction championship. Watching the video again the career mode will seem to have historical invitational events on the calendar that the player can participate in if they have the appropriate car purchased. You just can't seem to do a full on historical career mode, where you manage a team in the group B era for example. The career is the mode where you manage the whole team, including the engineers, mechanics, other drivers, etc, and have to pay for your own cars and repairs on top. The "quickplay solo" championships in the video will just have you managing driving and repairs throughout the event, none of the rest of the stuff. It's good enough, but still I would have loved to do a historical career mode with all the bells and whistles.
@@thewarmwind6171 Yes like you say as long as there is some form of historical championships, it will be okay. But I totally agree, a fully fleshed out career in the older cars is something that should exist, because that was available in DR 1 and it was great. So many people I believe are like me and want to play mostly the old cars, so it should be flexible for the fans of these eras. Personally I have hardly touched the newer cars in these games so far. @@mechanicalpants It is possible and even downright plausible that keeping the focus on modern restrictions for the headline game mode was a part of the licensing agreement with the WRC. Official licensing is a political minefield. You can kind of see it when they talked about the hardcore damage setting as well. They said they made it as realistic as possible "within the requirements of the manufacturers" or something to that effect. Basically, reading between the lines: "We made it as realistic as the manufacturers would let us". Probably a similar deal here. Still, doesn't stop me from wanting a full fat historic career mode.

Would be such a shame if something so fundamental to the core gameplay experience was snuffed out by licensing overlords! Bad enough that it effects the damage model so much already. No PSVR2? No buy. I simply will not continue to support a company that ditched its fans. First, F1 2023 is "PCVR exclusive", and now WRC is the same. This is hogwash, and it needs to be corrected ASAP.

Really love the look of the builder mode! still, i'm pretty sad that there doesn't seem to be a right hand drive build option. I do understand that it will complicate some things like cockpit cam and right hand drive countries are super minority, but c'mon, some people are actually converting their rally2 cars to rhd. Still love it tho, very cool feature.
Many of us have equipment for simracing, will this time we be able to have the correct and detailed information so that we can justify why we bought all this equipment which is not given, thank you.
