Really good. This comparison makes clear the extra grip the cars have in this game. Even being 3% slowed, the game goues much faster in the corners, then, the real footage cathes up in straights.
Could just be a setup diff between the real car and the car being used to game? People tend to use hyper-optimised tunes they share w eachother that are not really feasible in real life.
@@omarsheriff51 It's the most realistic rally game.. Not because it's realistic, but because we haven't made any better. Richard Burns Rally heavily modded is much more realistic to drive than any EA rally game to date. The car physics are wrong in this years WRC game, similar to dirt rally 2.0, which is focused on helping noobs drive better, which in turn also changes the car physics to be more arcadey. This is also why they made the roads way wider in this years game. To help the noobs, so they can sell more. If you haven't already, I encourage anyone to watch any Rovanpera run on gravel stages like finland, greece. And compare it to the driving in the WRC 2023 game. What you will notice is HOW MUCH you need to slide / drift the car in real life. But because of the arcade physics in EA WRC 2023, mostly you arne't sliding unless you're in a sharp corner (1 right, or 2 right, or hairpin). But in real life, you need to drift even on 4 and 3 rights otherwise you lose time.
The only problem is I wish the trees were closer to the road. Some parts of the game feel flat and I think it is because of how far away the trees are compared to the real life version. You can see trees and branches hanging over the track whilst in EA WRC the trees come no where close.
Agree and not only that. Some place are missing the camper of the road that make the flow way better. And the color of the ground is very white bright makes it look more like a game
If the game was developed for people with super powers it wouldn't exist because there are not many of those around to pay for the development cost. Those with superpowerrs actually drive the real cars. Us mere mortals can barely get by with the game as it is
@@Verklunkenzwiebel It doesn't take much to get basic principles like these correct. It's just EA doing EA things. They aren't going for realism, they're going for arcadeyness to make the game feel better to noobs. That's why the road is so much wider compared to real life. That's why the car physics are just straight up wrong. I love the game but it has so many things that are different to real life it's like trying to relearn how to drive a car.
probably Summer or Autumn season setting in EA WRC, I wonder if Spring is more similar to the real video being more green? Makes me want to boot up the game and check.
@@ddlyhm Nah, it's not very green in any season. Most locations lack the real deep dark greens that they should have. Finland is another, weird yellow vegetation
and not enough vegetation. The fields should be tight level mass and the forest should be like a green wall. I understand they dont actually want to do the green wall thing like in the past, but it would actually look better. I gues if they actually put enough trees and other vegetation as 3d models, there is no computers powerful enough to run the game, they are struggling even as is.
@@PPekka They have enough trees I think, they are just not in the right places. There is a field of emptyness around the road of 4-5 meters at least and then it's the trees. It doesn't feel like you are going through a forest. It doesn't look narrow at all. That's something that WRC Generations does so much better. It has very narrow sections.
As an Estonian, seeing American trucks parked next to the road, corn fields, burnt grass, American style wind mills and god knows what else, leaves me disapointed. Suprised that there are no cactuses and locals wearing sombreros by the roadside. 🙃It feels like we are in Spain or something. Also lack of Ott Tänak banners and estonian flags is a no no. 🇪🇪 “Easiest fix” would be to add darker green grasslands and deep forests somehow.
Seriously they gotta fix this for next version, it’s awesome to get these corners basically correct and then have the stage not feel at all like it’s in Estonia!
Just shows that the geometry of the road is good and fairly accurate so we can get a fair idea of what it would be like to drive the real stage. Good tick in the box there. BUT there is very little accuracy to give you a sense of place. The graphic representation bears only the vaguest similarity to reality. The road surface is significantly different from the video, the trees are not the same species, do not have the same density and distribution, the roadside features have little in common with real ones, the crops/vegetation are not the right type, etc, etc. I realise photorealism is not possible at this stage, that's not what I am talking about. It's as if the graphic artists had a set amount and type of assets to deploy to build up the landscape and didn't have the time, or it didn't matter to them if to make them approximate what we see in real life.
Play a bit of Richard’s Burns Rallye in the free and modded simrallyefans version and you’ll see what is possible! WRC is super Arcady with roads that are much to wide and trees that are too far way..
@@rolux4853 Correct!!! Also, to add to the main comment. I disagree that the geometry of the road is fairly accurate. I agree that it's good, but it's not fairly accurate. The roads are way too wide in WRC 2023, and lack camber. Even on greece or monte carlo sometimes, or even OCEANIA rally stages, there is a heavy lack of camber on corners sometimes.
Wow, everything is in the same position but both screens look nothing alike, vegitation is either missing or there is some where there shouldn't be any.
sometimes the Computer versions of real life gets to digital. In comparison that's the difference here. I love the game, it's definitely great to drive. I'm on PS5-PSVR2. And I miss PSVR support, It's a big miss that EA and Meta has got that exclusive VR deal. But I still enjoy it more with the psvr2 on, than just using my 65". But again I'm very disappointed. I do think that the graphics looks better on PC for what I've seen, than on ps5 which I don't really understand. It's ok but not that amazing, it's very digital, and kind a Dirt 2 quality.
the big difference is the FOV on the game...and zoom level on the camera in real car...ya really cant compare the two.... unless you match the game to the real camera...which would require alot of tweaking to get right, as noone knows the real world values dir the real camera
@@flagmot Although I do think Dirt Rally 2.0 is better, visually than EA WRC, Unreal puts more strain on my system and visually it often looks grainy and has a bad framerate that can't be fixed using the settings, the best I could get was 45-50 FPS using performance DLSS, and it's stupid because I got a monster GPU that can easily handle this, the game just doesn't allow it.
Where are the trees near the track? The shadowy sections? The deep greens? It's all so open and the colours are weird. Road is very flat, wide and the wrong colour. Hopefully the remaster locations as we go...
The stage is accurate. The scenery, the foliage, color temperature and road textures are totally off... even RBR modders can do a better job on those elements, i hope Codemasters will improve that.
Why do game developers think that people want to see weird overexposed colors, that are nothing like the real world? Maybe a few kiddos who have never driven a car in their life want that, but nobody else! What happened to the strive for realism we had in the early to mid 2000s? Those where by far the best days for sim racing of every class! I dearly miss those days when we still had hopes about a bright future ahead..
@SanjinHadziomerspahic Please elaborate. Graphically? Or Physically?

@@MyMomsADadNow well, it's like this. I'm sim racing for at least 30 years, and a close friend of mine is a track designer. Bliznec stage is my home town road that I know really well. To the point: roads on every stage are too wide. Grass and flowers levitate off the ground as do cars on some stages. Trees/palms/cacti are placed totally random and on many stages a single texture palm is used. Grass texture looks horrible in many places as do half finished textures on objects. Classic scam again, like in all other games from these developers; a half finished track is made and then split into sections they call other stages. You can't set the camera right in the cockpit view like in previous titles even with a correct fov. Rain looks horrible, ea and codemasters, look up ilja yusupov. Walking my dogs at the moment, these are some quick points.
@ To be fair, I agree with you for the most part. EA is a terrible company where good game designers go to die from deadlines and deplorable management. Such as Activision or insert just about any other huge company like that. I also agree that the graphics and performance of the game are pretty bad when compared to what Codemasters did with DR2.0 without EA intervention, but I don't think it needs to be a laser scan of every track with every tree in the right place and the right thickness and whatnot. If that were the case, we would've waited at least 2 more years and it would be more expensive of a game, not to mention the content they would cut because of using so many resources on REALISM. This game wasn't marketed to be 100% raw simulation with picture perfect physics and stages. It was marketed to be fun and immersive, which disregarding the bugs and lack of soul, it is. I think the stages are close enough to the real ones to be considered "Based on Real Rally Stages" and that's good enough for the average consumer. I think if they fix the performance, lighting, shaders, and bugs, it can be a pretty decent game. It'll still be a soulless DR2.0 clone with F1 inspired Career Avatar BS, but it'll be okay. We need to start publicly speaking out against poor game development practices and stop buying bad games from bad developers.
@If you expect them to photo-reference and place every bush and tree for 600km of rally stages otherwise their product is a scam, you probably see what dev-crunch does to people...
No one of the Ralyecracks sees the complete missing road and surface details? No Banquett, No holes, No cuts. It is just a Brown band of nothing. Look at Dirt 2 for comparison to gravel or RBR.
I'm not saying you are a bad driver...in fact you did excellent but I don't feel like we should be able to match a world champion that probably has more seat time in the real car than any of us do in this game. I suppose it could be that there is no actual fear of losing life or contracts for a crash but I just wish the game was a bit more brutal in some ways.
More than fear is even easier than that...we can retry the same rally over and over and over and over...and they have 1 run and nothing more than that till the next year, and that is they are lucking and the track didnt change.
Modders of RBR can do it better in terms of color, light, texture etc. But the stage is pretty accurate tho. Just too bad its lacks the atmosphere of an authentic stage. Just like driving a Tesla, cool car, just too bad it doesn’t sound like a cool car. Its pointless, right?
@@neoone75 Is that why the IRL footage needs a headstart and still at 1:00 is already close to 2 seconds behind the game? Or maybe it's because the physics are Mickey Mouse?
Is it that hard for devs to get the Real Colors on the 3D Textures? Just do side by side and change the Texture Colors to match reality PLS OMG !!! i know it wokrs, i m 3D Artist! Nature is Green and no t PISS Yellow! And roads gravels are more Gray and not Kaka Brown! And where are the little Stones on the Roads (Tesselation like WRC 10) and water accumulation on the sides like KT s WRC?????
Yeah they made the roads almost double as wide in WRC, what a shame. That’s what we get when all they do is develop the game for some controller kiddies..
Honestly I'm disappointed. Vegetation placement in the game doesn't match of the real life. The piss filter is all over the screen. Roads and grass look UGLY. Even Dirt Rally 1 feels better somehow or at least on the same level.
How awfull the Graphics are.. Colors , textures ...Road is super Wide. Go have a look at Estonia Wrc Generations. Graphically another Level compare to the codies. This EA wrc Looks Terrible really.
