Sniper Elite 5 Invasion Mode is hilarious. You basically infiltrate single player games and take out the player if you can find them, so much fun! Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
This is, in my opinion, an excellent idea. You don't really lose nothing but failing the mission, so it's not as punishing as Tarkov, and it's not such a drag as BR. I could see something like this being really awesome into a game like Ghost Recon Wildlands.
why would this be good in wild lands? wtf? what kind of a terrible opinion is that lmao. wild lands already has a good multiplayer, an invasion mode totally wouldnt work in that game at all.
In my opinion, This would work better if it was implemented in Assassins Creed in which the player could get invaded during mission with other players acting as Rogue Assassins turned Templar, imagine fighting against other Assassins that were sent by the Templars to stop you from assassinating important historic character... I think it would be cool because then it will shows who is the better Assassins in that particular mission...
It wouldn't, this is why stupid people shouldnt be allowed to think lmao. First of all wild lands story mode was ass, people only played wild lads for its MP modes.
This sounds really fun, being invaded. The trick is never let yourself become the hunted. You need to make the invader your primary target and treat them like any other objective. Taking the defensive and thinking you're safe is the exact opposite of what you want to be doing
As well as not giving away where you are as well, or if you do it's for a reason sort of deal. Turn the hunter into the hunted. Since both sides are playing with the same abilities, but one's sole goal is to destroy the other. You can't let yourself as the invaded player become too distracted by the AI, at multiple points they die to Jack *specifically* when they are paying far too much attention to the AI.
@@calenhoover1124 Not if you're fighting another sniper, nor was it the primary modus operandi of WW2 snipers. Unless you have one primary target with a known location, schedule, and detail, "camping" is the last thing you want to do. This is also a videogame, and videogames have no bearing on reality other than deriving a topic/setting/genre. Since you are being hunted by an unknown adversary, there are too many variables to effectively camp. Also it ruins the fun infinitely more times than any other solution to the hunter/hunted problem.
@@Space_Parrot I think a good alternative is adding a 2.5 hr mission time limit to the host, to keep them going for the objectives. As for the invader, I’d say let them camp all they want.
It's such a nice combination, having a "super enemy" be actually another player, it becomes a PvE PvP hybrid, even more if both players were reaching their own objectives, kinda like two antagonistic campaigns
ive always wanted the invader to have some more abilities like calling in reinforcements to one spot of their choice on the map, for example the hospital in guernsy and the main gun for atlantic wall. another one would probably be a flare gun instead of bottles, make it easier to flush out a sniper if they are dug into an area
I wish more games had an invasion mechanic like this one as part of them. The amount of times an invader just threw a wrench in my plans made it a lot more fun that it would have been otherwise.
Way back in the day I loved the mode for the original Perfect Dark on the N64 where the first player would play a single player level like normal but the second player would play one of the guards on the map and have to hunt the first player down. If the 2nd player died they'd just take over another random guard.
A sniper that sits on a single place for days it's usually just to take out a single person that is high priority, in an active war zone they are pretty much as any other soldier just with more more distance between them and the enemy. Shoot a couple times, move so they don't get where you are, repeat.
@@toobig7150That is pretty much how have played both V2 and 3: Find cover, tag enemies, wait for the opportunity of a concealed shot, boom! Next patch. The enemy AI of V2 might not be that advanced but decently aggressive. The alert systems since three feel kinda weird...
would love to see you play the singleplayer with active invasion. no content creator actually does this with invasions on. what i kinda understand but it would be nice to actually have someone show the beeing invaded side. SP is actually quite nice. story and dialogue is...strange and not really good. but the gamepaly makes it fun.
I have been playing through the game with a friend, the Axis invasions really keep the missions interesting, such good fun. They really hit the nail on the head with this feature.
@@aaronbethom8166 bro no, there were not any invasion type mechanics in the ps2 ere tf you smoking, the only one i know other than fromsoft games is sniper elite and watchdogs
I feel playing as the German sniper is a massive advantage. The Allied sniper has an entire map of AI to contend with, and then a human sniper is hunting them amidst all that. The only help the Allied sniper can get is having a coop partner, but even still, the German has so many more opportunities to set ambushes. Many of the stealth gimmicks that help keep the Allied sniper hidden from the AI don't work against a human player. Stealth assassinations are incredibly loud and give away your position, and you're certainly not invisible in tall grass anymore. Meanwhile I tried playing as the German only 5 times, and literally in each of those instances the Allied sniper either died from the AI gunning them down or the game declared them camping too long and auto killed them. I've won 5/5 invasions and have yet to even fire a bullet at the sniper.
Thought exactly the same. The allied sniper is at a massive disadvantage. The stealth take downs are so loud so the German sniper has no problem finding him, but the German snipers footsteps are completely silent? This mode isn’t very thought through. That’s why everybody enjoys it so much too, because it’s op on the German side. The german sniper should only be able to be in first person for example and can only choose one weapon. Also he shouldn’t be able to use some secret passages like climbing spots. Right now it’s basically one sniper with a whole team of bots vs one single sniper (who is not even allowed to camp)
@@BastiHamburgCity Totally, it seems rather lopsided to favor the German sniper. The German has to REALLY screw up to be killed. Like I mentioned, I've literally won 5 invasions without even engaging with the Allied sniper. I get why they added the "no camping" mechanic, but the German needs some other kind of handicap like you said. The anti camping mechanic shouldn't be triggered so soon, and/or maybe it activates a bleed on HP, rather than giving the player a sudden heart attack and dying lol.
@@hatad321 that's true. I play on authentic, which disables the focus through walls. I "think" the invader is forced to play on whatever difficulty you set it to for yourself as the Allies. So that's a straight up nerf to yourself Haha. The phones i didn't know about though! I thought both teams had to wait
idk if it was different but at least now the allied sniper has the following: the ability to see through walls at close range. the ability to see the general direction of the invader at far range. the ability to replenish mines, grenades, heals etc. a much shorter wait time on the cool down a partner compared to the sniper jager the phone with a longer cool down tag soldiers to help you know where the sniper is raise soldiers awareness the option to blend in as a normal soldier if you pick normal skins and weapons
Deathloop had a similar mode and it was actually pretty fun and fit into the story. Good rule of thumb as the hunted is to focus on the invader and draw them out with explosions or gunfire, and then kill them while hiding in a corner or something. It’s quite satisfying to outplay another player in a stealth game
Would be interesting to see you play the singleplayer defending against invasions yourself! Just finished it today, great fun. I found being under fire by tanks and AI meanwhile getting invaded was a little more of a challenge haha!
@@bwin2992 It's meant to teach you not to camp. Staying in one position for a long time as a sniper would get you killed, this helps with the realism while also making the game more fun. Also, just turn of invasions if you don't like them.
The games single player is pretty alright, but playing the invader is by far the most fun you can have in the game. Playing all the singleplayer maps through once would help you learn the maps and where people are likely to be at what time. And it's a good laugh if you don't take it too seriously in my opinion. Also the invasion is like 50 times more fun when you invade a coop group and have 2 snipers to hunt, because players tend to be more reckless in a group.
I play coop with my roommate. I try to sneak and tag people. He runs full tilt in and kicks the hornets nest. Drags me straight into a run and gun firefight. Every time.
Jack: so many parts of the level I have not seen or discovered yet. Me: thats the radar you deactivate as the first mission of single player. Jack: I guess if I played the single player I would know, would I?
JACK! These videos are so much fun to watch! I love this game and would love to see you play more invasions and maybe even do a story mission or two. Keep up the good work!
Deathloop has the same invasion system pretty much. You have to play a couple of story levels to unlock the mode, but on the other hand it's great how organically the mode fits the narrative of Deathloop.
Really appreciate the attention game is getting it is one of my all favorite franchise 1st part was my introduction to fps games i played every part since and it never disappointed
That painting you pointed out at 5:57 IS a renaissance painting! Or, inspired anyway. It's St. Michael Vanquishing Satan by Raphael (yes, the ninja turtle's namesake)! Made in the early 16th century.
Imagine you've spent hours scouting, tracking troop movements, sneaking in closer, couple of stealth takedowns and then... BAM! You get shot through eyeball by an invader. It's probably the quickest way to make people rage quit and uninstall.
Had a blast for a while playing Deathloop on both the hunter and hunted sides of the gameplay loop. The game was designed around the invasion mechanic so it's a bunch of fun.
I know this series will be short-lived, but I’m enjoying the heck out of it. It was so out of the blue and seems like you’re having so much fun with it.
Jack Frags is just so good at this, and it’s great to watch so hope to see more Sniper Elite 5 content soon. Also be great to see some of the new derelict FPS and Siege of Orison content in Star Citizen when it drops in a few weeks time.
im glad they added this. I never invaded anyone but i did have invasion on while doing the campaign and boy does it make it so much harder. We know you are out there hunting us and still need to be stealthy enough to complete the objectives.
This is always fun to watch! Though, I still think you should go through the campaign, even if just to know the order of the objectives that the people you invade are doing.
Jack a heads up: use your binoculars to tag allies so when they do spot the enemy you know where they are. Also give the main campaign a run, try to 3 star all of the missions so you understand where to go and where objectives are. The game can be super fast since you can run and gun, i’ll be it less fun but can cut play time in half
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a game. Good on them for coming up with this. I would have never considered getting this game but now I'm going to buy it because this looks so fucking fun
I remember me and my buddy were being all slow and tactical and I told him to cross the road and I would cover him suddenly he got shot. The guy was in a building on our side of the street we were both freaking out
@@commandericeman8588 aurhentic mode removes all the U.I. aides. I prefer less hand outs and more thinking. That's also why I think ALL scope glare should be removed.
I was able to farm the invaders to unlock everything in one day. Play mission 4, set yourself up in the top level of the steel mill foundry. Locate the two long ladders to reach the top floor. Put down a mine and C4 at the top of the ladder. Now you can try to snipe the invaders, secure you cannot be snuck up on.
I had a good laugh listening to your commentary here 😂 Seeing how efficiently you do this as well says a lot. It would actually be quite a pleasure to go up against you!
Kind of seems that the invading person has so much more chance to win, would be fun to see if the invader only had first person view and cant 3th person peak
I think getting rid of some ui would definitely make it a lot better. Maybe get rid of the little circle that shows up when you hold your breath with a scope
oh also you can press middle click to change perspective to your left side... making it easier to peak around corners and shoot people on your left lol also aiming by pressing C changes you to first person iron sights. When you are aiming in third person its considered hip firing and thats why you aren't as on target and theirs bloom to your shots
That is entertainment! I’ve been playing single player only with invasions turned off so far. I plan on turning invasions on for my second play through. Maybe even invading before my second play through. Anyway, thanks for that!
@@MKRocker2012 Kind of, but the game is overall a lot easier. Even on Authentic, you can tank shots. Plus they don't have an Authentic Plus mode this time, unfortunately.
This game is the first time I felt invasion mode was done well, some minor tweaks could make it near perfect but only other game I felt did it well was Deathloop but that would be really frantic and it did set progress back compared to Sniper Elite
Isn't it kind of BS to be eliminated for camping in a Sniper game? It's even worse to be kicked from your own single player game, outside some sort of timed objective. Most of a sniper's actual job is scouting/observation. The role demands a degree of camping.
