Eachine E520S Dropped out of the sky - Don't buy from Banggood 

Thanks for that video. I learned that E520S doesn't have any short circuit protection. Well seems motor probably short circuited and fried everything. Cheap chinese tools tend to do that when stressed a bit. Eachine drones are not designed for heavy duty use I guess. The big question is why doesn't circuit board have a fuse which will pop when excessive current is drawn from batery? That will limit any damage from short circuit and prevent frying of everything. I guess just shoddy design or penny pinching to save cost of a fuse which leads to total destruction of drone when anything goes wrong. I will put in 10 amp fuse in my E520s, and hopefully that will prevent catastrophic burn from a short circuit. Probably E520s being so light weight can suvive a crash, but certainly not a catastrophic circuit board destruction due to short circuit.

Same thing happened to me today 3rd flight and 2 engines seized up and it came tumbling down - landed upside down in soft grass with 2 diagonal engines smoking. It’s really disappointing as it was so much fun. I think I will go with another drone maker from looking at eachines issues online. I will be doing my research prior to buying this time. I’m so tired of substandard products without any repercussions. I feel like I just got scam or swindled.

***@Electronic Stuff - Sorry for your bad luck. I just ordered a Eachine 520s from Banggood USA stock a few days ago. I should receive it in about 10 days. Hopefully I will have better luck and have no problems. But I will say Chinese electronics by far historically, seems to have a record of malfunctions. I have observed this all my life. Their quality assurance is below par to other countries IMO. As for what happened to your drone - something malfunctioned obviously. Looking at it, it seems there was a short somewhere perhaps due to a mechanical failure in a over heated motor(s), maybe a wire insulation shorted. Chain reaction overload of one or several components. A host of many things. Without a schematic it is not easy to pinpoint. Anyway good luck with your claim hope I have better luck. mine also dropped out of the sky, but it landed nice and soft in a bush. I turned it back on, and it looks like one of the motors is seized up.

I bought a newer model Eachine EX5 and I also have problems with electronics, several times during the flight it happens that one engine would stop working for a split second or something like that, because it shakes a set of drones and loses altitude by about half a meter, otherwise it has not fallen down. But it’s not a good feeling because you don’t know what’s going to happen. However, there are also problems with the app, as it is almost impossible to connect it to the phone ( I use the LG G7 Android 10, so the phone should not be a problem ) when I finally managed to make the connection, my app crashed during each flight, which became very dangerous because you don't know where the drone is and how to return it, and finally after six flights the drone can't be turned on for no reason. Too bad it looked like a good buy for a beginner, before buying any more expensive model. I probably ended up with cheap Chinese products that just pick up your money and make you nervous. It was purchased through Banggood.

thats a bad news and really discouraging from BG btw can you help me get the pinout of its camera? i wanted to use it for my other drone with inav FC. so in the connector, which cables are for ground and video etc?

I can buy new engines for it but I’m afraid if it happened to so many Eachine drones is it worth fixing. Has anyone tried replacing engines and have not experienced other issues?

Hi there, got my E520S from Banggood and it was DOA: almost no lifting off (30cm on max power), constantly sliding etc. Assuming bad IMU (MEMS gyro), it has chinese BOSCH clone MPU-6886 (LGA24 chip marked "I66"). If you still have the remains, may I ask you to send me just the red mainboard? I will refund your postal expences... Thanks)))

I too have one of these quads and twice it fell out of the sky. I pressed the orbit mode on the controller, the quad shut off and spiraled to the ground. The first time it was not too high and only sustained minor scratches. The second time there was a bit more damage with 3 of the main gears being stripped out. This E520 has many inherent problems. Besides the controller that has the orbit mode button act as an emergency off switch, it also has the camera and video buttons reversed. It also has issues with it binding to my smart phone. There is no consistency to this because at times it requires several attempts to bind and on other occasions it binds first time. I don't know if anyone else has noticed , but there is a quirk with the app. If you try to playback a video from your sd card thru your phone the menu comes up in Chinese. WTF!!!! Has nobody at Eachine done any proofing before releasing this product ? I have contacted Banggood but they respond with a stock e-mail stating they require both written and video proof of the problems. My suggestion is not to buy this product as it clearly has many issues and DO NOT BUY anything from Banggood. Banggood does not stand behind any of the product it sells!!!!!

OMG I bought one and it was falling down, payed 80 and received only 45, I bought another one for 50 (on discount)...same problem, it fall down and it's impossible to control. What a shame
