Mike, you are certainly right, these are built like a brick chicken house! I purchased mine in '98 here stateside, and purchased it in black because it had a non military look. It has been on many a ruck march, on and off public transportation in a major midwest capitol city and a nearby major college campus with nobody batting an eye except once: on an early morning ruck march around the turn of the century, a city motorcycle cop turned in his seat and stared at me as he passed. I assumed he knew what the pack was because they were more common then, but I also had the full on operator look, namely hiking boots, jeans,Raybans, and floral print shirt. I think my pack is earlier than yours with large pulls on the ykk.That means noisy unless covered with shrink tubing. With the three zips, the top two tend to work open, so you have to work out where they are in low light; main compartment=over on right about 2 o'clock, middle pocket on left at 10. Mine is still going strong and I almost think nothing short of a bomb could destroy it. It was my choice when the choice for packs was far smaller and it was a good pick.

Mike I have heard of this pack before but never saw one. Thanks for showing it. If you don't like zippers you must prefer buckles of some sort. I just went to Eagle Industries website and saw the "enhanced" version of this pack. They put laser cut molle on the front. I know it is lighter than regular molle but, I find it harder to attach molle pouches on it. Otherwise nice looking pack.
