He was doing a gig for the BBC's holiday programme!!! LOL! I love the way he cuts in with that, pure expected it to be something football related XD

We all know Eamo talks a lot of shite, but he was bang on that day. Thats why he is a legend, cos he throws out emotional rants time after time - some right, some wrong, some batshit insane and infuriating, but always entertaining and informed. Sure beats the craven cowardly pundits on English TV. I feel sorry for guys that only get to watch that shit every time.

Im english and yet i love this dunphy guy!He's great,he says what pretty much all football fans think!Brilliant stuff.

I don't see how he can say that Venables was part of the decline of Leeds Utd. The rot was well established by the time he took over.

Arsene Wenger was a terrible player, but turned out to be a fantastic manager. Dunphy (by his own admission) was a rubbish player, but he turned out to be an excellent pundit, who isn't afraid to speak his mind & for the most part is generally spot on.

He ignored that Terry won La Liga with Barcelona!!!

Have to agree fully with you Cillian. Giles is also a very astute observer of football and anyone listening to his comments will pick up a lot of wisdom. Dunphy has mellowed out in the last few years (for the most part). While he's very intelligent, he also deliberately provokes people and is self-consciously controversial (presumably to keep his profile high). That said he does talk a lot of sense in between.

"Giovanni Trappatoni" the best out there...he changed his tune fairly quickly when he became manager.

Venables was a very good manager. the English players who played under him flourished between 94 and 96. Instead Ireland got Trappatoni and his boring Crab football and of course Dunphy moaned like a drain about him too

I saw every Middlesbrough game the year Venables came in to keep us up. He can criticise him for only winning 7 games and drawing too many, but the way we were playing we'd have barely won half that amount had Venables not taken over. We looked certain relegation fodder before he came in and turned it around.

He's great entertainment value; don't think I'd call him a great pundit though - his views are often skewed and extreme

im glad trappattni is manager, im not pro or anti venables and i like dunphy (some times) but he's talking about 'character'. well roy keane is a a man that Dunphy constantly stands by and im sure considers him to have great character. he was found guilty of Deliberately setting out to injure Alf-Inge Haaland and Publishing an account of the incident to gain financial reward. i'd like to know his definition of 'character'

Venables was a much better manager than Souness. Souness won a shitload of easy trophies in Scotland with Rangers when they were spending much more money than anyone else, any bloke in the street could do that.
