Thank you for the video. I ordered 2 of the Earl's Suspender Banjo Capos from The Old Town School of music in Chicago. I received them just days later. I couldn't figure out how to use the capo, until I watched this helpful video. But after trying it for the first time, I hate this capo! It gets in the way of my playing. When I do melodic runs for songs like Devil's Dream and Blackberry Blossom, it interferes with my playing. Also, with a Capo on fret 2 (key of A), and the Earl's Suspender Capo on fret 7, when I slide up the 4th string to the 5th fret (which is the 7th fret now), the capo gets in the way. Having said that, the capo does produce a clear note. It stays in place fine on my Elite-85 Recording King. I just can't use this capo for my style of playing, and I seriously doubt if most banjo pickers would like this either, but that is just my humble opinion. Thank you again for this video. You'd think that some instructions would come with the capo, but mine didn't. This video was helpful.

I use the Elton spring uke/banjo capo like the folkies used in the fifties and sixties. I put an elastic band underneath the spring and it doesn't hurt the finish on the neck. 1/4" elastic with two dressmaker's eyelets on each end hooked to the capo then the spring hooked over that. Some use PVC tubing for the cross bar. I found red rubber tubing on the net. It slides easier than the PVC tubing.

Thank you for this review! I'm thinking of trying this on my banjo.I've wanted something to help capo the 5th string when needed, but all the others involve installing something or the non installation and diy ones are just junk.

I think I got it at Elderly.com. It works great for my style of playing, which is mostly old time clawhammer and two finger, with very little playing up the neck.

I got one ...and to be honest it's annoying on the 1st string . It's easy to knock into it and falls off unless you really concentrate ...which to me takes a lot of fun out of the playing . Thanks for the video .
