I actually knew that already, having read their wiki page.. Simonis actually makes all kinds of cloths for many purposes, but their billiard cloths were made for billiards and snooker.. Here in America, pool halls for years used the old natted wool cloth, which would wear much quicker, play much slower.. Simonis became popular in the 90's, depending on where you lived..

Earl shot way better when he lengthened his bridge, maybe starting around 1992-93. It was pretty short here during this time.

SVB is the best 10 baller. Earl or Buddy would be the best 9 baller.

@@kodyadams28 kody trust me he really isn't you have to see buddy in his prime I'm serious he was absolutely ridiculous when it comes to a money game in the back room Shane would not have a chance that's what I would rate buddy probably 9-ball the best in that regards in tournament play no it's a different game you have to see how good he was in 9 ball for money in the back room ask any pro that played them they will tell you that. You never shoot he's like a different person compared to tournaments no one today would have a prayer to beat him I seen everybody today even a Chinese players Dennis orcollo no way even he would not be buddy in the back room do some research on RU-vid about Buddy money games and I seen him with my own eyes my God that guy was ridiculous that's why people were scared to play him in the back no one went after him so don't say someone's the best maybe tournaments but not in the back room were it counts for money

Lol you are all wrong, Ever heard of a guy named EFREN lol all of the above have said Efren is the greatest at ANY and EVERY game
@jacobjones5269
@jacobjones5269 Год назад
@@billysikes1374 lol.. I was standing right there when Efren demurred to Buddy.. Bustamante had just given CJ the 8 and robbed him.. Didn’t miss a ball.. So Buddy and his stakehorse offered to play him and bet whatever.. The Philippine contingent said “oh no”.. lol.. So, then they said Efren can play and bet what he wants?.. And they turned them down again!.. bawahahaha!.. Nobody beat Buddy.. And Efren broke like a girl, dude.. Buddy, Nick, Earl, Sigel, AND Johnny all played better 9-ball..

"Simonis Cloth - Manufacturing superior cloths since 1680" Kind of a funny slogan.. You're probably right tho.

@msamber861 Yeah, Buddy is ridiculous. My best friend has an old Meucci that buddy shot with for a while. That cue has taken some of Buddy's essence with it.

For money they said he was unbeatable some people have the ability of turning it up a notch when it really counts and he was obviously one of them

Pretty bad dog on the eight in the first rack. Delicate position on the nine I guess. Stricklands stroke is like a laser beam in it's intensity and focus. I try to emulate but fail miserably.

It seems the 4 ball is purple, not pink as in the usual pool match
@sanctuary8396
@sanctuary8396 5 лет назад
The 4 is always purple in America. The only times you'll see a pink ball is in European/Asian tournaments.

damn cloth was slow back in them days i remember it like that it was so easy to play position.
@abusiveFIRE
@abusiveFIRE 8 лет назад
+craig howard You mean harder I'm sure, speedy cloth means easy position with minimal effort. Any player knows that.
@choward874
@choward874 8 лет назад
+abusiveFIRE no mean its way easier at least for me to control the cue ball if the clock is slow because I grew up on cloth like this so I know how to use it it's taking me quite some time to get used to the new Simonis cloth that they use on Diamond tables that stuff is fast
@thug19
@thug19 8 лет назад
Old school player like him or me likes slower cloth. We don't feel it hard to spin the ball. I especially hate the speed cushion these days.
@choward874
@choward874 8 лет назад
+thug19 yeah but that's how it is now the games tougher and you gotta adapt it's been a nightmare for me getting used to the damn diamond table's the rails are taller and it changes everything I learned about the diamond system!

Earl is dressed well here. From his shoes to slacks and shirt he looks sharp. Somewhere down the line he stopped dressing so well and there are a ton of players that look just terrible these days and take no pride in their appearance. Looking good out there when playing is important as it helps a player feel like he is better than he actually is. Won't miss as many shots. Also, a well dressed pool player helps to promote the game. If their appearance is scruffy, and frumpy new people won't want to engage in this magical game as much as if they were watching a well dressed player.

We saw what happened to former Snooker World Champ Ronnie O'Sullivan is his "American Hustle" TV Show. He nearly lost to a woman and lost every pool match, some of his matches were against amateur pool players. The Late Great Cornbread Red ran a add in the Pool & billiards magazines challenging anyone in the world to come to Detroit and play him one pocket on a Snooker table. None of the those snooker champs beat Red all that tried lost their money.
@kieranward4365
@kieranward4365 4 года назад
@@potlimit2002 He certainly did not lose every pool match, and pushed Strickland to the limit, lets see Strickland push Ronnie to the limit in a Snooker match shall we? lol and please provide the source for your 'Cornbread Red' story, I would certainly like to see a list of all the Snooker champs who flew to Detroit and lost to him on a Snooker table.
