One thing I noticed when I started using Tenkara... if you get tired of casting with one hand, just switch hands and keep casting... it's so easy. ( Great idea of using line floating stuff. I do that too.)
Thanks for putting this out; your deep, belly chuckles convinced me to use the two Tenkara rods I, recently, purchased. Was gonna save for some trout, but why not practice with them at the nearby bass/blue gill pond? Thanks again and tight lines.
I read someplace that you shouldn't use leader stronger than 4 or 5 pound test. The reason... if you tie into a really big fish, you want your leader to break instead of the rod. My largest Tenkara fish is a 4 pound 4 ounce peacock bass. It did take me over 30 minutes and the help from my friend in another boat to net it. 🤣🤣🤣
Hellbender is rated for 3X which is about 8.5 lbs. Some with more experience have used 2X with no problems. Personally I use 3X-7X depending on the fly and fish.
@@Shamus3 Your right, it should depend on what rod you are using... after all, that is why they mark the recommended line on all the fishing rods. LOL. Glad I thought of that. LOL. Tight lines.🤣🤣🤣
