ND was tough man, we did shoot birds in wheat everyday (3 days) but previous years we were looking for 200+ birds in a feed (mitigate the risk of some not coming back), this year we scouting about 800 miles and 20-40 birds was the average feed.... was tough
How would you approach hunting geese on a big lake with lots of cabins? There’s quite a few where I’m at but they’re always sitting on one side of the lake on people’s beaches so it’s too close to hunt.
It varies depending on where you are. Here in southern Illinois we don't see it until late fall/early winter. In more northern locations you start to see it much earlier as they prepare to migrate. They start to intermingle a bit as the first migrators start to arrive on those cooler late September fronts.
Fowled Reality Duck and Goose Hunting I’ve noticed something in North Alabama we get an October season from mid October to the end of October. We are usually more successful in getting birds to work and patterning birds during that time. The flicks are usually bigger during that time too.
