Man you MMA casuals are just as toxic as the Bruce Lee Fanboys. ITS A FUCKIN SELF DEFENSE MOVE. NOT A COMBAT SPORT MOVE. There are moves in MMA that only work in MMA or against EXP fighters and are not street orientated. There are self defense moves that work in self defense and or inexperienced fighters but not combat sport. There are BJJ moves that only work in BJJ and not MMA, same with wrestling so is wrestling and BJJ not effective in MMA? You are dismissing an idea and trying to use MMA as an authority and its not. MMA fighters also dont use knives does that mean knives are ineffective in a fight? Oh I dont see MMA fighters shooting eachother I guess that means Guns dont work, Somebody tell soldiers to drop their weapons and train them to be Kungfu Masters. JEEESUS CHRIST. The moves that can work are dependent on the rules of engagement and how experienced the fighters are along. There is no always work moves only situations where a move can work doesnt mean it should or it will.

@Thomas Eberle it's called practice till its second nature. u think boxers or other fighters can do what they do if they didn't have thousands of hours of practice and training? u see it thru ur perspective because ur not willing to do the time. u want it right away....doesn't work that way.
@uponreflection7336
@uponreflection7336 3 года назад
@Thomas Eberle some are better than others. I'm sure u can find a better trainers who says different...relying on one person's opinion or limited talent isn't gospel. if u want to be better then u train harder simple, ur just trying to dismiss what was shown. if u can't u can't. some can some can not. regardless it's an option u can use if u can pull it off when u need it.

It would be really cool to see how fast it really is. In high adrenaline situations you experience time dilation, and it's hard to comprehend the speed of things.

The judo headlock was what allowed me to survive after the first week at an overseas school because some punk thought I was staring. I learned judo when I was a kid and that movement was my favourite. However we do it with swift motion, momentum, hip motion and correct grip/leg placement. Once on the floor I had that guy pinned and punched him the F out with control. That year at the dorm was one of the best in memory.

This is true this is practical this works in the self-defense scenario, you're probably not going to be able to keep control of both wrists when you release yourself from the headlock however if someone is kickin, screamin, spitting and biting and trying to get at you maybe with a weapon. But great work also please promote people to go to Bjj classes cuz we're not actually going to learn anything here on RU-vid.

Once you thread the needle, is this a good time to go for their face? Especially if you can tell they are stronger and perhaps today you have on heels? I'm not a lightweight but I can definitely see that me overpowering some crazy dude probably ain't happening..

There’s also a mini takedown too. When you frame with your hips. You can then hip bump/scoop them then when they’re light on their feet turn them to take them down.
