Women expecting a pregnancy and who misses her period, normally goes for UPT ie urine pregnancy test to detect her pregnancy. But this simple test is not enough to know whether your are carrying a live intrauterine foetus. That's why the first pregnancy ultrasound scan also know as "Early Pregnancy scan" is done to identify the live foetus. This scan also answer few important question during the early pregnancy.

We are booked for our early pregnancy Scan ( we are 6 week pregnant) today or tomorrow. I am now informed of 6 parameters that I should expect: 1- exact location of pregnancy to r/o ectopic pg 2.To know number of foetus.. single double or multiple If more than one how are they sharing the sac. 3. To know viablity of pregnancy - fhb and wether pg corespondent lmp or not 4: To detect any internal bleeding .. any damage to internal organs 5.To rule out any swelling: cyst fibroids or tomours 6.dating ..to know expected date of delivery Thank you Dr I will post my feedback here

Hi Mam, Is it normal to have fetus with heartbeat but no yolk sac at 6.5 weeks. Doctor suggested to take another ultrasound scan at 8 weeks.

Anteverted and within the endometrial cavity there is evidence of a single gestational sac seen with weak decidual reaction. Within the gsac no definite embryonic seen no sub chorionic hematoma is seen. The MSD corresponds 5 wks 1 day (9.5mm). Is is normal or not I’m worried please do reply , I will be grateful 🙏🏻 Thank you

My cycle is very irregular so counting from my last period would be highly inaccurate...I took a pregnancy test and it's positive. Went for an ultrasound but nothing was seen. My Dr said I'm probably 6-7 wks based off my last period...but im not...Im only 2 wks because I was documenting and know exactly when I conceived. Now I'm anxious and hope nothing is wrong as I wait for the 5 wk mark for another ultrasound

Unfortunately I miscarried. I did a test to confirm my HCG levels. My number was very low..If the number is low it's most likely a miscarriage and if the numbers are high then you're ok for now.

Hello doctor I am pregnant.i was having irregular periods after marriage its been 15 months and i was trying very hard to conceive my last period date was 15 july in August i didn't get my periods around 28 August i tested in pregnancy test and it came positive after 4-5 days i went to dr and gave blood test it was also positive then dr told me to do scan i did around 8 weeks from my lmp and i got to know i was just 5 weeks 7 days pregnant and in scan i got to see only gestational sac and folk sac but there was no fetal pole and heartbeat the dr told baby is not growing like and told to do scan after 10 days is it normal ... suggest me what to do.....and my msd is 15mm

You are expected to undergore a minimum 4 ultrasound in your pregnancy... The first ultrasound is called Early Pregnancy Scan It is conducted between 6- 8 weeks. There are 6 reasons why you should conduct this ultrasound.

Also chronicity ( are they growing with a single sac or multiple. 3.To know the viability of pregnancy Viable pregnancy .foetal heartbeat is detected .pregnancy correspond with LMP .if the foetus is the uterus 4. Dating.. - exact week of pg - gestational age - Edd 5 To detect any internal bleeding or any damage to internal organs 6 To know about the swelling eg ovarian cyst, tumors or fibroids or cyst in fallopian tube for monitoring and treatment accordingly

Yes.. If you are not comfortable with transvaginal.. You can explain doc. Tranvagjnal Scan is accurate in early stage.. For Transabdominal you may have to wait for another two weeks to capture that same level of accuracy.. Doc will ask you to come after some 2 weeks to see through transabdominal

Hello Dr....During my nt+dual marker test i have mistakenly given my dob ie..My actual dob is 12/09/1997 but recrdl dob is 26/10/1997 and dr noted my recrdl dob instead of actual one... There is 1month difference b/w them....my nt result was at "low risk"..Does this change of dob reflect my risk????Do I want to inform my doctor about this change????Plz help

Thank you so much 😊 my last period was 05/21 and today which is 07/12 had my first ultrasound and they said they can just see empty sac and there no baby can please tell is that normal and it's early to see it

Thank u mam for ur valuable information . I have missed my period and took the UPT yesterday it’s weak positive . I was also having pain in pelvic region . So My doctor suggested me scan . I am going to do scan tommorow . What will I know in scan ..? LMP is jan 20 -2021

Thanks for ur reply mam . Today I went to scan . According to my LMP today is 7 weeks 0 day . But in scan it’s mentioned as gestational sac seen . But no embryo or no yolk sac found . And The weeks are also like. Less than 6 . They asked me to repeate scan after 2 weeks with complete bed rest .. Will I able to know after 2 weeks ..,

I just went in for suppose to be 8 weeks and 3 days ultrasound but nothing was there just gestational sack. Measuring 23.mm I go back in 9 days to check again. Doctor said I’m measuring 6w early but I maybe ovulated later or conceived later. Do you think I’ll have a good chance or no?

Yes there are cases of late ovulation or late conception. This also happens with the patients of PCOD. It’s quite normal in 5-10% women. Please Repeat scan after 2 weeks .

In 6 weeks 4 days, my scan report shows the yolk and there is no fetal pole..and the cervical length is 2.9cms and gestestion sac is 10mm..if it is critical

You can repeat scan after 2 weeks to see the fetal pole . Cervical length has to be monitored in NT scan

Hello dr...i have done my last scan during 33week which shows bps-8 and the amnotic fluid index is 22...scan report shows liquor is normal and doctr told me everything is fine...but in your growth scan video it shows amnotic fluid upto 18is normal...😇😇😇...is 22 excess .??

Hello Shabnam, majority of times increased level of fluid has no significance till it goes very high and won’t have any adverse effects so your doctor might have told that report is normal.
