Oh snap. Ya got me, finally hit that buy button. This deck is on its way, and I am so excited! Thank you for the review, nobody was showing the Minors. I suck at Roman numerals but I can work this one intuitively. 🍀 🔮
🤍Thank you so much for this walkthrough - been counting the days for this deck to be released in the UK and curious to know what the minor arcana representations were like - needless to say, the whole deck looks pretty awesome👻
I am so happy that we get to see this deck early. It's beautiful (especially the backs) and even though there is pips, I feel like I can work with this deck because they are different enough from each other. On a side note, I feel like I got most of the references but there are a few that I would have to double check with which movie they came from or at the very least their names.
Thank you for doing a walkthrough! I have been curious about this deck and am happy to see the minors. They are really good! I'm impressed by the guidebook. I love the artwork too. I'm ordering it!
I wanted to like this so much. The suit names to their actual suit doesn't connect for me. I don't think I would be able to read with it. I did have the Horror Tarot, Hocus Pocus, Disney Villains and Nightmare Before Christmas in my library, but I ultimately rehomed them. I feel IE have fantastic ideas, but their execution is lacking, and it comes off as cash grabs. Thanks for showing this deck. I would love to hear your thoughts after working with this deck more.
7:55 They aren't Ardvarks, they're Armadillos, and they're from the 1931 version of Dracula. Also, the two of castles is Dracula's Castle from Van Helsing.
@@lumeriastar924 You're welcome :) I didn't know either until I read the description in the guidebook and saw that Van Helsing was mentioned then I realised it was the same design.
It's an interesting deck indeed, but I feel that there is no a strong connection between the characters themselves and sacred meanings for each card if we are talking about the classic Tarot system: for example The Impress in this deck gives me very strong High Priestess vibes considering two towers on both sides, I would definitely switch The Impress and The High Priestess in this deck, because The Impress has a strong connection to Earth but High Priestess is pure Cosmic Energy. I also didn't like the "pentacles" cards, I feel they are way too similar. Some cards from the Major Arcana miss the deeper message like The Chariot card (in my opinion). I understand that all characters and their actions somehow related to a horror theme (a horror movie, mystery book, etc.) but we are not "watching a movie" but instead we want to get a clear message. I really think that the idea behind this deck was great but characters artwork and their development (transition) into meaningful images is not there and could be much deeper if this deck would be created or at least carefully revised by an occultist or a very knowledgeable Tarot expert. However, I still loved this deck because it's very unique. I like the backs, the box and the color palette. I may buy it at some point in the future but readings with this deck would be limited in my opinion. Thank you for posting this video.
I’d also like to see a stronger connection with the characters/monsters and the tarot card meaning, definitely agree with you there! I’ll still try to work with the deck this fall bc I do love the theme and perhaps it will surprise me how it reads!
I wasn't super interested in this theme but the artwork is really beautiful. And if you're going to do pips this is the way to do them! Not super lazy copy and paste.
