So in an interview Brendan spoke how he had not had much interaction with his father growing up. Apparently, Jerry lived a separate life. It appears he wants to get back into Brendan's life now so that he can help him become a better player.

I'll try not to write a novel here. I've been a Chargers fan since 77 and I have never been this excited for the season to start! Jerry Rice as a WR coach. Normally I'd say no because his son is on the team but Jerry is a special case and I believe he could make the entire WR room better. Hardwick as an O-line coach is a no brainer. Quenton Johnston, do NOT write him off!!!!!! Look at the numbers. He had a BETTER rookie season than Mike Williams did!!!!!

I think coach was being sarcastic when discussing Junior and the Green Dot. He was telling the vets on defense that unless someone else steps up, Junior is the play caller. As should be I think.

Bro, I’m pretty sure perryman or someone else can learn it pretty quickly. Defense’s schemes are similar just like quarterbacks when they have to learn a different playbook. Some things are similar just different names called differently so before the season starts, I’m pretty sure veteran will have the green dot on

I've been a Chargers' fan since '79, so I guess I'm too jaded to get excited about mini-camp performances. Especially with regards to the offense. I'm more interested to hear what types of schemes they're practicing. Greg Roman has a long way to go towards making us less nervous about his play-calling...

Last year was a product of a rookie,not expected to start. QJ was not getting first team reps in offense all off season cause Staley was not going to have a rookie play with his coaching career hanging in the balance.He was getting sporadic looks after being thrown into a pressurized situation with the season on the line ,for a wr and an offense catered to a completely different player/route tree / skill set. Herbert also missed four games at the end when he could have gained some confidence.Harbaugh will use him correctly .

I wonder...Who's idea was it for Jerry not to be so involved in Brendan's career? If it was the son, not wanting dad's name to influence things, then i am very impressed. If it was dad just taking a back seat for, who knows what reason, then I am less impressed. Hopefully it was the young Rice wanting to do things on his own, if that is the case...OH boy look out for this kid!

18:33 I just hope Jerry Rice doesn't mess to much with Brandon's career, especially his first year. Word is Jerry was an absentee dad and hardly spent any time with his son until as of late. Now wanting to just delve in to either gain attention and get back in spot light or feeling guilty I don't know. I do know trying to be all like I'm gonna coach you and have your back efc... can possibly put undue pressure on him to perform to keep his dad proud or what have you. I hope Harbaugh and company keep Jerry at bay

Wide receivers are all overrated. The Chiefs paid a DT and let Tyreek Hill walk. They win the superbowl. The Patriots had average wide receivers for their entire dynasty and lost the year Moss was on the team. Megatron had zero playoff wins in his entire career. The Chargers wide receivers are good enough to win a superbowl.
