Greetings and welcome back to Fly Fishing with Jeff .... it's 2024! In this video I move down the road about a mile to fish a small lake for some cold and hungry large mouth bass. Here in northern Wisconsin spring has finally sprung and our lakes are open, rivers are flowing … and the fish are eagerly biting. To say that it is once again good to be out fishing and atop a float tube with a fly rod in hand! Here is hoping that 2024 is a great fly fishing year as our local rivers will soon be up and running with small mouth bass .... so, stay tuned for more to come.

I really like the front porch idea! I also like the angle at which you filmed it. You have a beautiful home, Jeff! Thanks for the words of encouragement, sir. Yes indeed, we all have our crosses to bear. Good video and take care!😊

Jason, Good to hear from you....thanks for the kind words, we are happy with the cabin....especially after a few years of hard work. Looks like the weather down your way has been pretty rough.....the Huskers and Hawks got hit really hard last night! Stay safe and enjoy your fishing season.... jeff

Enjoy your videos. How about a little info on your equipment and flies you are/were using. Occasionally tie some of your favorite flies

Jeff: Enjoy your videos. I notice, you never put a fish on the rod. Even on this video, with that good sized 17 incher, you just kept stripping it in. Do you ever reel up the slack and fight the fish on the rod? Thanks. Thom

Actually I almost never go to the reel....after a few fish I have figured out how to fight a fish w/o going to the reel. The few times I have gone to the reel were for big musky or when fighting a fish in very heavy current. I have this theory that most folks end up losing fish trying to get the line onto the reel....maybe I am wrong....but it never crosses my mind.... jeff

Do you use an anchor with your tube?

Never use an anchor...always moving and if I choose to 'hover' in place I can use my kick fins to do so..... jeff

I agree, with fins you don’t need an anchor. And it’s great exercise. I’m looking forward to getting out, now that school is out “ for the summer!” Front porch talk is a great addition. Also love the Bible passage and what it means to you.
