It great watching this. Speedwell is a wild flower here in the UK. It’s very pretty, I never seen anyone plant it as a decorative plant. You would also love Toadflax.
I’m a big fan of groundcovers. Our biggest challenge is keeping them from succumbing to our drenching rain. These are all beautiful! Will be looking for them.
Just a footnote on the Silene, for those of us who don't live near your nursery, Digging Dog Nursery in Albion CA carries this unique groundcover. I have my eye on it and surely will try it here in N. California.
I’m thoroughly enjoying this video, watching it in Portland OR while it’s snowing outside. I was hoping we were through with winter since I want to plant the last ground over you showed. Love the variegated leaves. Stay warm!
I'm watching this video after shoveling now twice today. We got more than four feet of it in the last day and a half (in California!), so looking at pretty groundcovers is really nice! Wow, this video was very informative. I like that you put in the temperature ranges, and I like your style too. I subscribed.
So happy to see you with another video and ground covers, just what I need. I hop3 the can do well in my zone 9. We have pretty hot summers here lasting for About 5 months.
I am in zone 7b looking for a backyard ground cover that can withstand the play of two dogs and still look decent. I also prefer ones that are less attractive to bees etc for that very same reason. Any recommendations?
It's so funny how we all pronounce plants differently, but we all know what we mean. Here we pronounce the aubretia as 'orbreesha'. However it is said, I love it, but unfortunately I just cannot grow it in my garden. 🙂👍
Love this video… I always use lots of ground covers.. one question is.. how do these do in hotter (summers) climates? I live in Oklahoma zone 7 and need those cold hardy plants, but also those that can handle the very prolonged hot temps. Thanks!
Do you have a way to control the slugs (that will not poison the birds)? My Rock Cress never gets a chance to bloom before every single little bud is eaten away. I would have to stand outside with a flashlight all night to protect it, if I wanted to see a flower.
You gave the cool temperatures and saide the plants could take sun or sun and shade, but what is the highest temp they can take? We get over 100 degrees in the summer zone 7 and now they are saying we are zone 8.
