General Tips for this mission:
Just a really long mission where you gotta handle teleportation ships one by one. Everything you see that is not a monster (so drones and aliens) doesn't re-spawn, so you can take it out and then destroy the ships one by one.
I suggest that you start by shooting to the opened hatch from a bit far, let the wave under it come, take out the wave and then finish the ship once it opens up again. This should mean you take it out with only one wave that is already there to deal with.
If you are low on crates, simply take out some more waves to regain your health. The ships don't spawn that much so it's quite safe dealing with just one of them.

After finishing EDF6, I've decided to re-play EDF5 since the games are so interconnected.

I have already played EDF5 a couple of years ago and I had a lot of fun. This playthrough is on Hard difficulty as a Ranger. I made a new character to pick up everything from the start and to keep mysels as underequipped and underarmored as possible only picking up what I find in the mission.
I am not known for my skills in shooting games, so this may help you if you struggle with any mission. In all likelihood, you will find the strategy I used sufficient as I very rarely win on skill alone.
Generally speaking, you wanna move constantly, which avoids most of the attacks from almost any enemy. There are those that require a bit more attention, but even against those you wanna move basically all the time, except your movements should be a lot more strategic.
