The musicianship, the vocal talent, the stage presence, the greatness of this band transcends time and sounds fresh new and inspired today as much as ever.
Watching Phillip sing " Fantasy " in concert during the late 70's was something to behold. He kept going higher and higher as he climbed some steps and everyone was thinking, ain't no way in hell he'll hit the note that would correspond to the top step. But not only did he do it, he shoved it in our face and worked it as if saying, "ya'll don't know who y'all f'n with!"
I saw "Devotion" by Earth Wind and Fire and clicked on this video. This is the first time I've watched this video of their live performance of "Devotion", so I'm definitely grateful to see it. That's the reason I gave you a 'like'. But I still prefer the live recording from the "Gratitude" album the most.
Agreed, but y'all can't forget William Hart (Delfonics), Emanuel Johnson (Enchantment) , Ted Wizard Mills (Blue Magic), and Johnnie Wilder Jr (Heatwave)
