Again, I would rate this man as the world's best. I watch a lot of guitarists' videos, and no one comes close to Kent's talent. He should be playing at venues like Carnegie Hall. He would be sold out. It is only a matter of time until he is recognized for the historical genius of his guitar playing. When an icon like him comes along, it raises the bar so high that he ends up changing the overall level of others' talents. That is the historical nature of his talent. The people who most appreciate his talent, are musicians who know and understand his level of genius.

Fantasy isn't exactly an easy song to cover by a whole band. I know because we tried it already. The fact that you're able to arrange in a way that incorporates 99 percent of the key parts of each instrument and execute all of them in a single instrument... Kent has been doing this for years now, making exquisite covers retaining the soul of each song. I wait with bated breath for the day he actually uses his ability of understanding what makes songs great and actually makes an original piece or even song.
You’re correct. However, unless he stops playing only covers and begins to write his own music he’ll be relegated to supper clubs, and high-end Tokyo Hotel Barrooms overlooking the city. Not there’s anything wrong with that, but he can and should strive for more.
What Kent does differently in my opinion is he arranges and plays exactly what he hears. I can superimpose the original in my head on his arrangement - dynamics,.feel, timing. I've never heard that before - it's so seamless that I'm hearing the original recording played on guitar. It sounds effortless, which is the hallmark of a master.
Must be the ultimate freedom superpower. This guy can go anywhere in the world. All he need is a guitar and people will stop and listen recognizing his undeniable talent. Kent is like a samurai with his guitar precision and feel that cuts into anybody who listens
There are great acoustic guitarists - and then there's Kent, in a league of his own so unique that even the passive guitar listeners quickly sit up and pay close attention, innately recognizing that they are witnessing a truly rare talent in action.
i've studied his finger movements and gave myself 6 months to get it right. 12 months later i can say I've mastered it and will upload something soon. The next challenge will be to go beyond air guitar and actually play a guitar
I've been playing at the guitar for going on 40yrs. You come across players that make it abundantly clear that you'll never be great. For me, it's been guys like Van Halen, Michael Hedges, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Tommy E and now Kent. It doesn't get me down. It lifts me up. Thanks Kent!
Dang, what a savage Kent is executing excruciating chord sequences amongst crisp picking progressions and with all due respect to the churches of funk or new wave...this young man has style-cubed.
Don't let the view count fool you. Each song he plays is better than the last-better arrangement, sophistication, feel, and technique. If Kent was a stock, I'd put all my money in cause one day he's going to cover a "trendy" song and blow up. I personally am happy for him to continue covering what he likes, I have a feeling he's got a lot more hidden away that will shock the world when he is ready to show it. What the??? Just stumbled across this stunning playing of one of my guilty pleasures when it comes to songs. The voicings are fantastic. There's so much going on in the original version with bass, horns and mulitple vocals - and this version provides such a full spread of them. Fantastic job. Thank you
He is the best acoustic guitarist I have ever heard. Exceptional talent, he makes the guitar sound like a full orchestra with his rhythms, beats, harmonies and melodies.
Kent's arrangements and playing always leave me spellbound but this one is absolutely stunning. So difficult / complex and yet every note is clean and as clear as a bell. Truly astonishing technique and a wonderful sense of musicality. There are a lot of excellent fingerstyle guitarists out there but in my humble opinion, Kent surpasses them all.

But, if you do close your eyes, you will miss a decent portion of the enjoyment. Watching him as he really begins to groove with what HE is playing shows just how much he truly loves the music and giving it all it deserves. He gives us a masterpiece every single time.]
Such an inspiration. I hope you live long. The world has not seen one like you. I share Kent's music often. It sounds beautiful and easy on the ear. You'd think you can play it too. But, man, he's doing things few can do on the guitar!
