@@jaykay6411 I have to said that it means the same thing. Now, the question is, do really sleep or rest in peace? I would love to know someone's thoughts on that.
That is exactly what I came here to say. The live is iconic and legendary. It eclipsed the studio version to the point where I don't listen to it anymore. ✨️😊💛
I love EWF!!! I'm from Argentina and it's my favorite band since I met them there in 1977/8, it's wonderful and clearly exceeds its funky style, because they have pop, rock, soul, blues and jazz, and everything is perfectly balanced and wonderfully executed; special mention for the voice of Philipp Bailey, a genius
I love a bit of Earth Wind and Fire, they have this excellent song called Can't Hide Love. The vocal harmonies at the end of the song are spine tingling. All the best from Scotland 🏴
I have to say that I did not think Scotland listened to this type of music. That makes we want to visit your country. You are all are amazing people. Thank GOD for you all.
@ronaldross6950 ,really..what makes you think that?. Scottish folk listen to all types of music and many various artists come here for live concerts. Yes, you definitely come definitely visit Scotland, you might be surprised 😁
How could anyone dislike this song? The funny(?) thing is it's played at weddings, which really surprised the leader of the group Maurice White. You pull up the lyrics to understand why!
I was was 21 years old when this album came out. I Love E.W.&F. These songs remind me of the warm summer nights at the lake with friends. I always enjoyed dancing to their music. I still have every one of their vinyl albums.
Great song from 1975! I remember listening to this the day of my prom while soaking it all in. Too many great EWF songs to list but. Can't Hide Love, Devotion.Love's Holiday, Evil and Head to the Sky are songs you must get around to reacting to. Great musicality with these guys and great in concert. Maurice White gets the credit for masterminding this group however. Looking forward to more of your reactions to them. EWF and SD are my 2 lifeline groups.
Sooo many EWF songs. You're just hitting the tip of the iceberg. For a couple of bangers maybe In The Stone or I Can't Let Go. For a really nice ballad with beautiful harmonies I definitely recommend Imagination.
I am 70 years old. This brings back memories as this was some of the music that I was listening to while dating my gal friend who eventually became my wife. We are together to this day and still listening to Earth Wind & Fire. We did get to see them in concert some years back. So great to see them live.
There is a great video of EWF in Japan that I watch every couple of months to make myself happy. Maurice White - genius. And Verdene on the bass. And Bailey of course. Maurice on the kalimba is magical.
I have to say that you guys really blowing my mind. I grew up on EW&F. Well, I guess that will tell how old I am. You would be surprised of how many songs they have sung. What is more amazing is that this is a group from the 70's. Now, back then we didn't have what we have today. Now, you look at this all-black male group with their talent and singing and the gift that they brought. Just like one of the comments I read from one, you should have done the live version. Very different from the rest. Please understand, it is not about a black thing, it is about a music thing. So, respect the group truly and check out their history. It is on u-tube. Now, you need to discover all of the other band of the 60's, 70's, and the 80's. I know most of them. There I go telling my age again. GOD bless you all.
You Guys are the best... I glad I found you guys. I wish more people join your channel. Your review are real reviews of vocals and well and production. I'm learning how to listen to all the instruments. Thank you..
Nice, takes me back, to my teenage year, s, in the 70, s, I was 16 in 1975, I bought all there album, s along with Steely Dan, and Chicago, Doobie bros etc. Those were the day, s. We always,s looked out for our favorite artist next album to come out! Good job guy,s! Clayton
Interesting how higher-pitched male singers were a thing then. Chicago went more with Peter Cetera on lead vocals, as did EWF with Philip Bailey. Randy Meisner hit the high notes on Eagles' One of These Nights, and Roger Hodgson went high on Supertamp hits like Dreamer.
Nick, the “Live” version, Please! There’s a Sax solo that goes on for 4-5 minutes. It’s just Orgasmic. Just you and your girl dancing by a firelight to this song (live) it’s Love to the Nth degree…..
Greeting from Chile 🇨🇱 *Muy buena Reaction friends*
Excellent reaction to a very talented band and amazing earring/necklace combination Lex. Save some room on that back wall for your RU-vid 100K subscribers plaque coming soon. That is going to be a proud moment.
Hi guys, yea I know .. this was 4 days ago. Just doing a bit of catch up. I never got into EWF in my youth ... or later till now really. I am liking what I'm hearing, This track does remind me of Smokey Robinson. Very similar vocals. He was on pop programmes alot from the 60's onwards, with songs like, "Tracks of my Tears" - " Tears of a Clown" - " Being with you " among his many hits. I definitely need to checkout more of EWF and looking at the comments, I think the live version of this is highly recommended. Byee Jim X
Thanks so much for covering Earth, Wind & Fire. Long time favorite for so many of us. Always on the radio back in the day. Listen to "Love's Holiday" & "Can't Hide Love" really 2 more of their great ballads. Maurice White the creator & leader of the band actually originated in Memphis. His mother remarried & moved with her new Dr. husband to Chicago. Maurice stayed with his grandmother in Memphis til he graduated from high school. Then he left for Chicago to be with his mom & siblings. His new stepdad helped him get in music school there. And then he went on to play in bands, eventually forming Earth, Wind & Fire & the rest is history. He passed away in 2016 from Parrkinsons disease. He was a musical genius & left us with such a great legacy.
@@DesL488 I believe it’s all the same version - a collaboration between Ramsey Lewis and EWF. It’s the same version on either album as far as I know. Listen to it and let me know if I’m wrong!
This album was the soundtrack for a movie of the same name according to the sticker on the album cover. Very obscure- I've never seen it available anywhere. Anybody seen it? Before this album EWF was not very well known so a no-budget movie could still afford them.
The mastermind behind EW&F was not Phillip...with all due respect to Phillip. The mastermind was the late MAURICE WHITE. He was the driving force behind EW&F. He was also the lead vocalist on "Can't Hide Love"... "Let's Groove Tonight", and many of their other biggest hits.
Love you guys. Other good songs of Earth Wind and Fire are "Saturday Nite" and "September." EW&F were one of the most popular bands in the 1970s. thanks for posting.
if i remember it right this one was Earth Wind & Genesis .. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WvWjgbX5OzI.html and this one was Earth Wind & JacoPastorius ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0JsfLj6yS6I.html
This isn’t going to be a popular comment. I always felt that the main vocals sung by Philip Bailey in this song sounded strained, and oft times slightly flat.
Tengo ese Long Play de esa época donde están todos vestidos de blanco ...como bailando ....en la portada del mismo! Reasons me encanta! Greetings from URUGUAY!
