This is one of those drum covers that makes non-drummers like me (guitarist and bassist) just wanna move to drums and never go back lol, nice work dude, sounds flawless! Keep playin’
TREMENDOUS JOYFUL BEAUTIFUL EFFORT. It is impossible to be in a depressed state when watching you exuberantly playing this wonderful song. From your co.ments I can tell you are very grounded. You express both humility and excellence, which a terrific combination in a human being.
@@SteveToccoDrummer You Are So Welcome Steve. They Sound Beautiful man.!! Im A Drummer Myself. Love The Sound Of your Kit. Love This old school music !!!
@@SteveToccoDrummer I have been playing drums since I was young, and I took lessons for years! I got a new, new to me, DW drum set. It's so beautiful! It's 7 pc. Pistachio Green sparkle!
@@SteveToccoDrummer I wanted to do some drum videos, more teaching than playing, but I don't know how to make a youtube video? I"m not sure if I should use my laptop or something else. Maybe one of these days....
Very nice job! You brought out some things that I didn't hear before and love that you don't overplay! So many drummers over play so much, throwing their own inappropriate triplets and fills, multiple cymbal crashes, etc. that while they may be a good drummer, makes them look like douche bags and totally ruins the song! You were spot on! I also like your Gino covers! Those are hard to do! I play a lot of Gino! Love Mark Craney (RIP)!
hi, i have 3 long questions in my mind , 1) can drummer hit close hit hat and crash cymbal at the same time ? 2) or they normally dont do that , since close hi hat can not be heard when hit together with crash cymbal ? 3) or It is impossible to do that ?
stylistically, when we go for a crash as an accent (on a downbeat or something), we do not hit the high hat/ride/whatever we were "grooving on" with it. But it's not impossible. Especially when I'm on the ride cymbal, I'll smash the crash but keep riding as well. the crash does cover up the ride (or closed high hat, or whatever), but you can hear the difference most of the time. It's subtle, but there.
Thank you, Kevin!!! Re: cymbals...I have all kinds. Some are very expensive, some are very inexpensive. In general, the adage is correct, "You get what you pay for." The inexpensive cymbals sound good but they tend to sound "tinny" and harsh. They also lack a full range of textures and tend to crack easier.
Great Cover . What Crashes And What Sizes Are You Using & What Kind Of Ride Is That?!? They Sound Amazing !! And What Snare Head Are You Using ? Sounds Nice And Fat !!
Thank you for the compliment! I just run some old Shure mics into a mixer and then go from the mixer into a Zoom camera. No compressors or limiters or outboard EQ or anything else. Somehow it ends up sounding OK.
@@SteveToccoDrummer You're welcome and yes they are :) I have been watching your covers for the past couple hours and they are all absolutely amazing, and your song selections are great!
@@brianmercurio9894 Wow, a couple hours!!! I hope it's been worth your time. It never ceases to amaze me how many great songs are out there in the world. I have about 450 songs on my channel and there are hundreds more songs I'd love to cover. Are you a drummer?
@@SteveToccoDrummer Yeah it's worth my time and I will be watching more of your covers soon. Wow you have done a lot of covers! No I'm not a drummer, but drums are my favorite instrument.
@@brianmercurio9894 Drummer or no drummer, I appreciate your kind support. Believe it or not, I have 450+ drum covers on my channel. I must be out of my mind but it's a lot of fun. Thanks again!!!
