Oh as for the complaints about chuggaconroy. I spoke to Shane last night and he said what I suspected in the last video, that this is the first ever script he's ever had to read from, so a combination of inexperience and nerves made him speak so quickly. Conroy's gutted about how it went too from the comments in the last video. So give the poor guy a break hey? When I first started out reading scripts on TV I was forever rushing through lines and was constantly told to slow down, it's a surprisingly hard thing to force yourself to do! But the episode of DYKGaming I voiced is coming up in a few days, so you can all see how much I sucked at doing it too :D
You're a good guy Larry, I got the impression that he wasn't so used to reading scripts, but I don't understand the complaints anyway. Chug sounded totally fine to me, the fast talking wasn't anywhere near too fast and I could understand everything he said. Some people just like to complain to make others feel bad.
Not only that, he does talk really fast on his videos. Watched him for 5 years now and even tho speaking fast is his style... it's perfectly understandable.

4:34 I don't think so. I believe that the fact that Everdred originally had a ghost sprite actually suggests that the game was originally supposed to make it perfectly clear that Everdred died before the Moonside part, which is why players don't see or hear from him anymore after Fourside.

I honestly can't believe this many people are having trouble understanding Chugga. I've never had much of a problem with the way he speaks. This is coming from a guy who doesn't undertand a person if they have any sort of accent.

To be honest... a 3-D Mother game just wouldn't have that feel that the other 3 have. I think that Mother is one of those series that just has to have a top-down, 2-D view, y'know what I'm saying?
Already seeing Ness, Jeff, etc. in 3D in smash, I think Earthbound would be alright with a 3D remake, it would also be really cool to see Ness and co. at a new camera angle. to be specific, one similar to Wind Waker's
Christopher Nerd I just think that Mother games wouldn't be as enjoyable in 3D. Yeah, the character models look fine, but what about pretty much everything else? It just wouldn't have that same feel, unfortunately.
I think it would work out fine in 3D these days. Not on the 64, though since the visuals on that console aged poorly for every game when you compare them to the 2D sprites in Mother 2 and 3, which seem timeless.

I could not imagine 4-5 sprites following ness. And if he was a playable character, he would be better off being one of the party members that do attacks or shit on their own instead of you choosing to thing to make them do. And besides, The teddy bear that Paula has counts as an extra character or just a shield. Also, good theory

7 years late for replying to this, but, I’m going to say this. You’ve clearly never watched a video of his, have you? This is the way he always has talked. Yes, sometimes he will try and slow down, but most of the time he’s just a fast talker. most of the people here, (including myself), can still understand him. I think your brain just needs to speed up.
I once heard an interview that said that the ending of Mother 3 was originally going to be _much_ darker. I'm guessing that 4:50 is the remnants of that ending...

So in America we have Mother 1 and 2 on Wii U VC, and Mother 3 is coming to Japan's VC. Now we just have to hope for an international rlease of Mother 3.

You know, I'm just gonna say that most people that don't understand Chugga are likely trolls. He get's tons of trolls anyways, I remember one time there was 4 Chan raid on one of his videos claiming that Chugga rapped someone. Trolls can be stupid.
As a person who has never heard chuggaconroy before, I can say that in my opinion, he wasn't all that fast. Sure, there were a few tiny rushed bits but it's nothing videos haven't accidentally done before on their own. You did fine Mr. Chuggaconroy, and I think I'll go and watch some more of your videos!
Why are people complaining? I watched the whole video without a problem, scrolled through some comments and learned that apparently some people had a problem understanding him...?
If you're used to people speaking pretty quickly, it's not really an issue. But there are some points where he speaks so fast everything seems to run together. I found myself having to stop whatever I was doing and focus solely on his voice just so I could understand what he was saying. I like the speaker, and he speaks pretty well. He just needs to slow it down a notch or two at some points.
SonikkuEmii4eva One thing I found was I heard him just fine, but the silence between the facts seemed odd to me, I feel like he could have possibly slowed his voice down a little to cover up that silence. I dunno if I'm explaining myself well XD, with the other DYKG the silence between facts seems natural and the facts sometimes run into each other, whereas this one seemed like a bunch of facts strung together with awkward silence (and by silence I mean lack of talking, yes the music was there but yeah) in the pauses..
Sorry, but I just need to point this out. When you talk about the Star Spangled Banner 2:55 it was not composed by Francis Scott Key. He was the lyricist. Don't know who the composer was, but it wasn't Key.

Everyone has their imperfections when it comes to speaking it sounds like. Chuggaa talks to fast, HCBailly gets too high pitched at times, NCS sounds like he shits words at times, Darksydephil laughs like the joker. Was gonna call out chuggaa for talking to fast but then I realized this fact. We all have imperfections.

AFAIK Shigesato Itoi spoke each line instead of typing it to make more natural speech in the game... not because he couldn't use a computer. At least that's what he said in one of the articles regarding Mother 2 on his website!

Venom NBK I come from 5 years in the future. Your wish has been granted. Well… For 1 game at least. Mother 1 was localized and changed to EarthBound Beginnings and was released on the Wii U virtual Consol. But… the Wii U is now dead. The EShop is still up and running right now though… So that’s a plus I guess. Miiverse is dead though, not to mention that The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was the last game the Wii U got. Rip.
In regards to the Onett trumpet player paying Dvorak's New World Symphony movement 2, I feel that song was used not in reference to the Dvorak composition, but rather a remake, titled, "Going Home," by Paul Robeson. Due to Ness constantly getting homesick throughout the game, coming back to Onett and hearing the melody of "Going Home" would make a little bit more sense to me, and provide a sense of comfort for Ness.
Did you know? I sold my Earthbound SNES and Chrono Trigger cartridge to Gamestop (was called Funcoland back then) when I was about 10 years old. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep.
I often have trouble hearing things, but I thought Chugga's speed was actually perfect. It was able to hit the many points, quickly and concisely without wasting time. Lists like these can get boring if it is slow and casual.
