I think a remake would be very difficult to pull off, the quirkiness came from its era and the way its made, and the soundtrack uses a lot of samples which gives it its unique weirdness.
0:41 legitimately gave me chills I was 11 when I first played Earthbound on my homebrewed Wii, and after beating the game I consciously came to the conclusion that video games were art. I'll most likely be playing and creating video games until the day I die.
Gilbert Hoefler MOTHER 1+2+3 for Japan, Earthbound legacy Collection for US (and how about in the settings you could change the versions of the games).
This is the most I could ever ask for ever. Nintendo needs to pull this off. I cried watching it, and it gave me some of the most intense chills I have ever experienced.

@terrarialord378 I'm one of the devs, he might be right, EB's a huge game. Plus, we're adding some quality of life stuff on top of everything, so 5 years won't seem that long.
WOW! Im a big fan of this game and it sounded so amazing with headphones because the sound was going back and forth between my ears. You deserve true applause. I hope that, if nintendo does a remake for switch, they use your beautiful title screen.
Hey this is really good ! Earthbound could definitely stand a remake. However if you're ready for the next level, look to Gameboy Advance and Earthbound 2 !
It took me so long lol, but I realize the "War Against Gigyas!" is a snippet of what would've happened if Ness hadn't saved the world. So Ten year into the future, this was the awaiting reality- I feel bad! xD But besides all that, wonderful work man! Gave me Wii vibes, or maybe WiiU vibes :D
About a month ago for my 12th birthday, I got a Mini SNES, the one with 20+1 games. The first game I played by myself was Earthbound. Now, I am traumatized by the Pogo Punks and I never want to go near one again until I'm strong enough XD.
Everyone here wants a earthbound remake but I'd prefer a mother 1 remake since seeing the world and characters in a brand new light would be amazing, also because the battles were shit. It was always you were too powerful for the enemies or the enemies were too powerful than you.
This is really good and I can picture the whole game in my head already. An Earthbound remake like the Pokémon remakes but like really good 3D sprites and really good looking graphics. It makes my brain hurt
A remake doesn't seem too far-fetched...the game would have to be rated T for Teen, however if it were to be remade/released as-is, so...yeah. Come on, Nintendo! Ness can't ONLY be known for being in Smash all the time!
NINTENDO PRESENTS: WITH APE COMPANY! PART OF MOTHER 30TH ANNIVERSARY WE BRING YOU: EARTHBOUND REMAKE!!!! (it could happen in July! But first, they should remake Earthbound beginning first.)
Man I would love a Earthbound Remake. There’s few things I would want for it 1.) I would like it to be in 3D. The Chosen 4 can have the models from Smash Bros Ultimate 2.) this intro for sure 3.) Maybe Voice Acting? (I’m not sure on it) 4.) Music (it doesn’t matter to me if it’s remade or if the old version is used. It’ll be awesome regardless) NINTENDO PLS
The Undertale fans hears this as a doom call where getting kill by a psychopath murderer is inevitable meanwhile the EarthBound fans hears this as hope still being in there and saving the world from aliens.
It’s be so hype if they were at an end of a direct and said “wait we have one last thing that will definitely please everyone” and then it fades to black and this starts playing
If Nintendo made a 3D remake of Earthbound in the same top down style of the original with fully animated models and really committed to the darker elements of the source game I think it’d be received supremely well
