i've tried my family thinks the world is going to just keep going as it is. they've got their heads in the sand and just keep obeying a phantom god/man to save the world.
Just prepare place by yourself and after nice house is done in rural, then family will fall in love with the feeling of being in natural house and nature :)
I live in rural area, but nobody wants to help me, not even my mom. They think lowly of the material. It’s better if you have people to work with. I guess it makes no difference if your family’s there or not, people have to want to make it.
I love that he advises to use sand from the side of the road, because that's something I would do. When I see rocks laying about, I think "foundation", when I see pallet wood destine for trash, I think "larsen truss for the house. I mean, a person can literally build a house for free 😁😁😁
yea, but in USA, all usable land either owned by Gov't, large corporations or the super wealthy. you can buy land, but then you pay yearly taxes to use that land.
I will soon be setting up a moneyless community project in Borneo where the concept is to use all free building materials be it recycled or from the surroundings. We would make sure we would spend hardly any money so to ensure we live a debt free life with us growing our own food and generating our energy and filtering our own water. We would invite volunteers from everywhere. Namaste
@@chaikiankhiong Contact me, I am an architect living off grid building my own house in the UK. I also work with sacred geometry and earth energy and can give guidance with that as well
I’ve seen many cob building videos as I am going to attempt to make a chicken coop out of cob and this is the best explanation I’ve seen so far. Thank you for sharing your journey with the best of us :)
Hello John thank you so so so much this is probably one of the best building videos that I've watched so far.. I hope it had more details such as how the foundation and roof are made. We would also love to see the final product. looking forward to many videos like this. Thank you so much. God bless.
Nice jon continue to educate people By using videos . Your not only give us knowledge but you taught us how you save the planet the way you did. When entire people living in this planet learned this way how self sufficient then its time to kick the ass of politicians
Hi Jon, I recently quit my job and moving to a farm house. Was planning to build a cob house over a year. Seeing ur 10hr Adobe build I m awestruck 🤩. You really make a lot of lives easier. Thank u !!!!
this is the best house from nature for a simple life. i'm wanting to have like this in the future i need more info in making like this..this is a life saving to those who have not enough budget to build a modern house.thanks for sharing i keep following your videos.
Thanks Jon, really enjoyed your videos. Swadeekap 🙏🏼 Its nice of you to share these basic and practical house building techniques. Am a professional Architect from Malaysia🇲🇾
Hi Jon, Just recently found your channel, and I am amazed! I do have a question on adobe building in Southeast-Asia: how to you ensure that the bricks are weather-resistent? And do bugs and other critters (termites, etc.) not burrow into the adobe and damage the walls?
Hello Jon, been a fan for very long. I like the fact that your built on materials that are around us. My question is, if only two people will work on this, how many man-hours? How many days for two people to finish it. Have you tried doing that?
My first house is about 39 square meters I worked alone 2 hours per day .It took 3 months to finish the house if 2 people the same size of the house may be about 3 weeks.
Hello jon, it was not shown in the video how you attached the beams to the earth-wall. How did you do it? So that the roof will not fly in a tropical storm.
terracotta... terra =earth cotta = cooked (baked, fired) Bricks and ceramics are "terracotta"... what you have is clay with which to make terracotta. If your clay is red, then more than likely the iron content will be rather high. Most clay turn red when fired => that is why bricks are red(dish).
Bring 12 liters of water to a boil then mix half a kilo of tapioca starch with 1-3 liters of water with room temperature . Pure the mixture in the hot water stir fast in a few minute it turn to translucent that is good to use.
@@JonJandaiLifeisEasy thank you. my grandparents land is neglected but is filled with fruit trees primarily mango. Lots of leaves in the ground, I think I can use that to build something. Your comment gives me confidence!
Thankyou friend I'm going to Philippines Soon with all Australian hardware and goods for self-sufficient off-grid stuff prepared for Our small survival farm hahleluyah
Sawatdee khrap Pi Jo, please do a video for floor and foundations for Adobe building or straw bale building. How deep concrete needs to be? What other considerations? Other options?
Thank you so much for the video!!! And all your other videos! You are an inspiration! I do have a question... can I use dried citronella grass or dried elephant grass instead of straw for the fiber of the cob? Thank you! 😊😊🙏
I love all this I hope to study with you Mr Jandai, thanks from Sicily, It could be a pleasure to host your activities here inthe center of the Mediterrean Sea
What about water damage ?. Do u have to take care to prevent prolonged drenching of the walls. I can imagine ur region being very rainy tropical as well. These alternative building got me concerned about this
We have roof cover the wall. If the rain hit the wall the clay paint help to protect the wall. We don't have problem with the rain in the 20 years of our experiences.
Adobe is the fastest way to build and cheap. Cob can be the strongest but adobe can last more than 100 years depend on how we take care of the building.
Hi I am watching from Batanes, Philippines.. the instruction is detail and easy to follow. May i ask though how is the strength of the mud brix typhoons of 250km per strength? Thank you veey much.
Jon Jandai Life is Easy yes but they don’t get seen by immigration officers 😂🤣 I wondered about doing a little house on my land and was told foreigners aren’t supposed to cut their own grass or paint their own house unless the work permit covers it 😭 it is seen as taking the work away from a local.
You have good mud in Thailand for bricks and you don't need to dig under top doing soil in most places. It is very sticky. I remember what it is like in Korat
Hello It is nice to know you here I would like to build an earthen building that look exactly like Ox Cart shape Do you know any of your friends or people who want to live as your life is living ? Please ask them to come and help building my dream house with me in Siem Reap Province, Angkor Wat, the Kingdom of Cambodia!
Amazing video, with very practical, clear and master craft description from an obvious mater carpenter with very good experience. Very helpful for a project i am thinking of introducing' in the Philippines... From San Diego , California USA Thank you so much.
how nice ... you have discovered adobe construction .... lots of different styles but always the same ancient principle of adobe bricks ... mud bricks made from mud and straw
Try adding adding Hydrated lime to mortar for bricks and paint for parging, the lime will help with cracking from movement or sag also to prevent water penetration ..
I want to know how to make the curb for the monolithic slab! lol. so hard to find instructional video on that! and reading it there is a lot of terms that I don't understand.
concrete help to protect the humidity on the ground you can build it with out concrete if your place has low humidity. Note: the humidity at Thailand is around 60-80% a day during raining season
@exploring perspectives Jon Jandai alway said the best way to learn to build a earthern building is by do it yourself. Bricks is a building block of it, So you might wanna try to make them first. There is no definite recepies for this because each different places has a differents soil composition and different air humidity. So just listen what he say in this video and you can start make some bricks. Just do it !!
Boil 12 liters of water. when the water boiling mix half a kilo of tapioca in normal water then pour into the boiling water . Mix very fast . When it turn clear color that is good .
Now when you say 800* is that baht or USD since you seem to favor the US dollar? Last time i checked the currency is baht not USD. And most of these are for foreign people not your own people since you tube is a western company in the US
Thank you for this wonderful building technique, can I use this mix on brick and cement wall for Plastering. Will the surface be good for waterproofing, will there be cracks on the surface if we do plastering on brick and cement wall.
You can use this mix to plaster earthen wall cement wall dry wall even wooden wall . The surface will not good for waterproofing. We use paint to help with waterproofing.
