Question: what’s so dangerous about what this person did? No signs of sand falling? No pebbles viberating? So what did they do so life threateningly dangerous like…. oh I dont know a journalist in a war zone? Or someone recording the impending tsunami that is hitting such as brave people in Japan’s 03/11 EQ.
@@debbiewhite9711 it’s a slip strike fault, meaning the plates slide next to each other. There is no such thing as a fault line that splits open and swallows you up
@@dat209papi You probably want to read up on seismology. That fault is capable of producing at least a 8-9 richter. If there is ground water under where he is standing during the shaking, he is good as dead. Take a look at what happen to the ground in the 1964 alaska quake in the wilderness areas. Where he is standing could collapse as the plates grind together or turn into quicksand. That is no place to be during a quake.
It looks like if a river formed going down hill & carved the walls like if it was a fault line. That's how the desert looks like after a storm hits, a bunch of river carvings that look like fault lines have formed but it's just water rushing thru!
I see those same things in the deserts of West Texas, New Mexico and Arizona as well! Does not mean fault lines are forming out in those areas, either!
Nothing like teaching your kids how to not avoid doing pointless things like standing on an edge of a 100 foot cliff or wadding a river during a flood... or better yet standing on one of the most active fault line in the world.... I could imagine the news headline, "family disappears while making a video for RU-vid, showing people that as long as it isn't active at that exact moment, you can straddle the fault line just like us..... but on the other hand , we did it at the right place at the wrong time and all that's left is this awesome video of the incident..... make sure you hit the like button.... I don't get it..... but hey I'm just a worry wart....

Wrong wrong WRONG!!!! That is the exact San Andreas fault. We verified it by gps. We go there about once a month and monitor seismic activity and measure the fault line for widening. You are clearly an amateur and have no clue what you are talking about
I ride that same line often ,even have a video on my channel riding it,it's the San Andreas fault and that Crack is right on top of it. Water or not ,it's the fault. Takes you up to arrowhead springs
