Earthquake also spoke about his friendship with Eddie Murphy, who Earthquake believes is the most talented entertainer. He discussed Eddie's range as an actor, comedian, and musician. While acknowledging other uber talented entertainers such as Jamie Foxx, he still gives the nod to Eddie Murphy.

I just realized the movie Boomerang was an all-black marketing business. The movie was just so good that I didn't even realize that. Eddie is the man but that’s bullshit that he was the first black man to call the shots with white partners in the movies! Not even fucking close! Shaft was the leader in every Shaft movie, he was a black man calling the shots and showing up white cops. Almost all the cop movies of the 70’and 80’s had a black man who was the Captain or Lieutenant over white, or black detectives, all the way back to Soilent Green with Charleton Heston...and how about Sidney Poitier in Heat of the Night, and that was in the early 60’s South!!

If you're talking about mainstream white America, and staring an alpha male, you kinda have to give it to him. They generally played black men as the old captain who just shouted a bunch or if he was a lead the straight-laced black cop who had had the sharpest moral compass and didnt do much to offend anyone. Shaft wasn't for white America, Beverly Hills cop was.

It doesn't matter what Rick James says because this song party all the time hit number 2 on the Billboard charts. And garbage songs do not make number 2 on the Billboard charts they don't even make it on the chart. Sounds to me like Rick James was hating on Eddie Murphy's success.
