Juan Alderete (The Mars Volta, Racer X, www.pedalsandeffects.com) stopped by the store to share his love of the Earthquaker Devices Afterneath Otherworldly Reverberation Machine, the Ampeg B-15N Flip-Top bass combo, and his '70 Fender Fretless Precision Bass.
In a nutshell, The Afterneath is an otherworldly reverberation machine that uses a swarm of short delays to create wild and cavernous reverbs and scattered, short rhythmic delays with bizarre characteristics.. but it is oh so much more.
Enjoy Juan's tasteful playing and his ability to create deep, atmospheric, "otherworldly" sounds.

Was planning on making it out to this being local, a bassist, and loving Earthquaker, but unfortunately couldn't. Awesome to hear a bass demo for this amazing pedal, thanks for posting this CME!

Great demo! It sounds like it is more a "sample-cascade-hold", more than a traditional reverb. I agree with the commenters saying we need an expression-out so we can control the Drag knob with a footswitch! Would be awesome.

this would be so cool if it had an expression pedal to control the "drag" knob! it's cool anyway and i suppose not having that option keeps the price down.

Yeah I am waiting for them to come up with a second version where I could run a TRS cable to an expression pedal to control the drag function

I've been playing bass for around a year, and have always wanted to get a pedal, a ambient one especially...I've been eyeing this one, would this be a good idea?

Yes but they also have one called the "ghost echo" it has 3 knobs so you don't get option paralysis! And it's cheaper on reverb.com for about $130.00 :) hope this helps!

Way too many pedals! Thinking about a reverb pedal, is this the one to go for? Also this distortion. Seems pretty thick to me: "Center Street Electronics - Druid Fuzz"? What do you think +anthonylozano

niasboiii whoa haha that fuzz was pretty huge but for me it sounds like it'd hide the notes too much? Just my ear I guess but as for the reverb in this video it sounds pretty huge and like it has a bunch of options but if that's what you're looking for( dynamics etc) then I say get it! But for simplicity and easy to use tones I'd go for the ghost echo :) hope this helps bud!
