Our first anti- “traditional guitar” pedal circuit has been a consistent board contender year after year and highly coveted by those in the know. Bit Commander’s simple interface, excellent tracking, and huge attitude make it all too easy to dial in a crushingly primitive square wave synth sound with your stringed instrument. But what is the REAL STORY behind our original monophonic analog octave synth? How does one obtain this information? Lucky for you we have been busy compiling a serious inside look on the EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander.
In this film, you get a chance to accompany Dave Hill as he builds his own Bit Commander pedal right here in pre-quarantined Akron Ohio! Hear the circuit’s tale by creator Jamie Stillman with a distortion twist at the end! And let’s not forget the “Basement People” reenactment by EQD crew! What stands before you is our entire goody bag of top secret info, exclusive interviews, and clips of people bonding with Bit Commander. Producers, musicians, comedians… everyone loves it. It’s famous. Needless to say, you will be better served actually watching this video than reading about it. Hop to it and enjoy!
Video: Chris Tran, Vice Cooler, Dave Whited

Damn this video felt really emotional to me. It blows my mind just how much influence the Bit Commanderl and Earthquaker in general have on so many artists around the world. "You play to the pedal" was my favourite moment on the video, and it's a statement that connects personally to me as a guy who always looks up for experimentation and sounds that no one has ever heard, that seek for that level of creativity is what drives my whole career. To all of Earthquaker, thank you for your passion and contribution to the music world. I sure hope someday i can play my music through one of your beautiful devices. x @clay.octopus

Yeah, I don't always buy to gear to satisfy a particular tone idea, more OI buy gear that looks or sounds like it might be cool and then I let it take me on a little voyage of discovery. Guitars too. I don't have a specific design I demand, like neck size and shape. It's fun to grab different stuff and see what it wants to tell me.

I miss Juan and Nick. Even their intro where they brag about their first encounter with the pedal. They showcase pedals from unknown to established with an equal love. Explaining every knob and its function. Sense there aren’t many imaginative guitarists and bass players I shout to the pedals and effects!

Favorite parts: the intro is dope. The fake beards were spectacular. The solitary pink sheep on the sweater is pretty great. But my favorite part over-all is the storytelling at the bar scenes. A good brew and a good story is simply the best. Well done on this video!!

As a father who doesn't want to see his daughter's options to be limited, my favorite part of the video was seeing Jamie Duvak teaching Dave Hill to build a Bit Commander. Sarah Silverman once said "stop telling girls they can be anything they want when they grow up. I think it's a mistake. Not because they can't, but because it would have never occurred to them they couldn't." Great to see a woman building pedals! @stdejr

First off the cinematography in each and every one of your videos are genuinely killing it. My favorite part of the pedal is the girth of the thing. The pedal pushes thick tones that give me the chills just hearing it. Its the "feee fiiii pho fum, I smell the blood of an englishman" of pedals and I genuinely dont know how I've gone this far without one. Oh wait, my bank account... Haha .
