If your car can handle it, the instant the option is available don't use the roads. Go for the 'side' of the road or drive a distance away, but keep the road visible as a means of guidance.

Raising speed limits would be a terrible idea, especially for the interstates. It would create mass traffic jams on onramps,because cars would need more room to accelerate up to merge. And any wrecks would be much more deadly and larger due to drivers being unable to react in time to a spinout or sudden deceleration.

Wait, why'd they nuke Florida, Texas, and especially California? Didn't the zombies originate from DC and fan out from there? Even sprinting, zombies wouldn't be able to get across the country in a matter of days, hell, driving across the country takes several days. Something's wrong here...
