Today I teach my grandkids how to make freezer jam. It is quick, easy and delicious! You can do it with any fruit and I teach you the benefits of "clear gel". Hope you enjoy! My kids and grandkids love Grandma's freezer jam!
God love yah grandma! I typed freezer jam, and scrolled until I saw a grandma in the picture. I'm so glad I clicked on your video, grandma made is always the best, but to have a low suger option like this... Thank you!
Thank u adaline for sharing . Glad you have.your channel . Now I'm older I love short cuts I used to do everything the scratch style my family was very spoiled lol.
We have peach trees, and peaches some of our favorite. Often I’ll mix peach and strawberry, or peach and raspberry, or peach and mango. We love them all. Make sure you get clear gel instant. The clear gel regular thickens with heat not agitation. Good luck
1 cup fruit to 1/2 cups sug (or less to taste) 1 Tablespoon clear jel. Mix cel gel and sug well then stir into your chopped, diced or crushed fruit. You can times this recipe as many times as you’d like. ENJOY 😘🥰😍
I shared your video with my sister who makes freezer jam, too, and she is excited to try this method, once she gets her clear jel instant. I just received my clear jel instant, and I am looking forward to using it for gravy, as well as jelly! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I am looking forward to learning more from you! God bless you richly!
I miss fresh fruit jam! I need to find a way to make it without sugar. Sugar is something my body can no longer handle. It triggers my RA joint pain big time. I can eat fresh berries though. Can't wait till my raspberries are producing! 💖
Hi Meg, if you let your Berries come up to just over ripe, then use them immediatly so they don't mold. You will get the natural Sweetness. If you use artificial sweeteners just sprinkle a little over top to taste. Good Luck. JO JO
Hi Grandma Adiline, My name is Jo Jo, I came over to watch because Alan sent Me 👋. The Jam recipe looks so much easier than stirring the pot etc! JO JO IN VT 💕😄
Grandma Palmer Thank you for this video! I have not heard of Clear Gel but will be buying it and making all kinds of Freezer Jam. Waiting to see the next cooking video. 😊🙏🏼
Can’t wait to make this, I am a diabetic and this is going to change my life. Where has this Clear Jel been hiding?? I wonder if the Amish store might have it!
Go online but make sure you get clear gel instant or clear gel Maxi. The clear gel regular thickens by heat. The instant Thickens by stirring or blending.

Yum! That is such a quick way to make jam! I've always used the pectin and it took lots of sugar which I know we don't need to consume. I'm going to try this method instead. I've been able to find the clear gel at my local amish bulk foods store here in Kansas. Thanks Grandma for sharing this recipe! God bless you and your new channel!
Good job grandma, or in Australia I would call you nanna. That does look yum. Regards Jake & Rebecca in Aus. Psalms 1 & 91 Oh wait- I thought I was on the Taffy video we just watched. Xo
Thank you for sharing! I love making jam but don't do it very often because the canning process can be time consuming. I'm very excited to try making jam this way. how long does it last in the freezer?
Because of the 10 kids that we have, and all the grandkids, I’ve never been able to keep the volumes that I’ve made any longer than a year. But I believe you could! Good luck
Howdy neighbor! (I live in Tempe. I follow your son and his family on Route 66 and now I follow you, too!) Do you have a recommendation for an alternative sweetner, or for a different type of sugar for this recipe? Also, congratulations on your new video channel, and thank you for being willing to share with us on RU-vid!
Any sweetener you’re familiar with would be the best for you. Stevia is the most natural. But you use a very small amount to sweeten it. And you would blend your clear gel with your fruit so it wouldn’t lump rather than trying to mix it with your alternative sweeteners. There’s also honey, agave, and xylitol. For a few alternatives to
Love this video ❤️. I’ve never made freezer jam and I will try to make it with my grandkids. Why do you put it in the freezer and for how long? Do you need to thaw it before using the jam? Thanks!
I’m so glad you’ll try it. Remember to order clear gel instant. They generally store for two weeks in your refrigerator. The reason you put it in the freezer is long-term storage. When our fruit trees are producing l am making gallons and gallons of the jam. If you’re just making one or two containers they could easily go in the fridge. And the answer is yes you do defrost it before using it. GOOD LUCK 😘.
Hello Grandma Adeline…..I’m buying needed items getting ready for canning. I bought the clear jell right after your Freezer Strawberry Video. I usually make my jam, put in jars and water bath. If you know how much Clear Jell in the jam or is it not done? I thank you greatly 😊🙏🏼
You can make freezer jam or cooked jam and bottle it. There is Clear Jel instant that thickens by agitating and must be used for freezer jam. Then there is clear jel regular that will thicken by heat. I have used my instant and it also thickens by heat but you need to mix the clear jel thoroughly with your sugar before you add it to your fruit, or you need to blend it so it will not lump. The measurements will still be the same. One cup fruit to one Tablespoon clear jel and sugar to taste. I hope this helps you. ❤️
Are you sure gel all the time in my bottling. Of course she would have to follow proper canning procedure. You could open cattle can jams, or you can place them in your jars and steam them. I’ve also done pie fillings, etc.
Adeline, how long does it last once you thaw it and put it in the refrigerator? Thanks, I’m loving your show! I know I used to eat it at my sister Pam’s house and it takes so good on homemade toast!
Yes I posted a Facebook video today that shows you how to use Clear Jel instant. And you could make your jam with no sugar or a sugar substitute. Enjoy
Yes, I posted a RU-vid video today on the use of clear gel instant. You could just blend this with your fruit and it will thicken with no sugar. Or you could add, a sugar substitute like Stevia etc. etc. try it and let me know how it works for you.
