Great idea, and good video. The only thing lacking, is a close up of the finished knife. I tried to look at it while you were flipping it around. Not so easy to do! When you are done, show it off!

Lots of promise with this design. I can see variations and options. Yours is really NICE as intended for kitchen knife. Geez I hope that didn't sound like wrong. Keep up the good work. Really showing lots of improvement over time in all the tight areas. Liked you back then...even better now. 🙏 blessings your way sirSir Crawford out 🧙‍♂️

I've tried several different ways to forge weld 1084 to a spike without success. The one successful knife I made for a neighbor who gave me a load of spikes was made essentially this way, and it's holding up just fine. I used 5160 for the blade.

@@CGSmithing oh I planned on it. Thinking W2 or 440 for the blade and rusty old spike I found near my property the first 10 spikes was given to me. I'm gonna try this out and then put it thru some test basically try to make it brake only difference is I plan on pinning with galvanized pins.

Great work, man. Extremely cool. I bet it'd look insanely cool if you gun blued everything, then sharpened it. Especially with brass or copper pins. BTW I like how the channel is starting to shape up.

That’s cool only change I is I would use steel pins instead of brass and I think a couple of Welds would be necessary but still cool design
