This is by far the easiest and fastest way of canning cherries or any fruit.
All you need is cherries, sugar, water and canning glasses. I learned this canning method from my grandma long time ago. Enjoy cherries all year long.
Here are the needed ingredients:
For 32oz glas:
cherries pitted/not pitted
2 tablespoons of sugar or stevia
warm water to fill it up
lid
cook in pot for 20 min, take out of pot and immediately turn upside down for at least two hours to seal it properly.

Its always a good idea to put something on the bottom of the pot so the jars wont crack.

I always place a washcloth or hand towel in the bottom of canning pan and then add the water. I think it will help prevent canning glass breakage from sitting right on top of the fire source and the constant bubbling of the water won't bounce it around, creating a chance to break at high temperatures. I love canning foods. Nice video too, I like the way you presented it.

This is the easiest method ive seen on here. Appreciate this alot. Mid summer cherries are incredibly cheap where i am as they grow wild everywhere, and id love to make different preserves of them for year round use. Im planning on canning fresh ones for pies and tarts, but would love some maranchinos for shortbread cookie toppers and making chocolate covered cherries too, (plus theyre nice just for snacking on when you have a sweet tooth)

Thank you ,,you close the lid after you put the warm water directly .?second question where you keep them in the fridge?
@kathleenfowler9598
@kathleenfowler9598 Месяц назад
Yes, you place the lid on the pot and simmer. If the jars seal, store in a cool dark place for up to 18 months without the rings on. If a seal goes bad, you'll know it that way, with the ring on it can create a false seal. Also, don't stack jars on top of each other when storing. If a jar doesn't seal, or you open one, they can be stored in the fridge for a few days.

Yes exactly what @Kathleenfowler9598 said.

Hello. I just did your method and after processing, noticed that the sugar was all at the bottom of the jars, looks hard. Is this normal?

I just jarred about 35 quarts of cherries using your Grandmother’s method here. Thank you! It was a race to get it done before they rotted and your method was fast. So I can’t thank you enough. I’m wondering if you would kindly share your pie crust recipe and if you have any more canning recipes. 1 Corinthians 15:1-28.

Hi Sharon, I attached the link to the pie crust video. The recipe is in the description or I believe on my blog as well. Hope that helps 😁 Fresh Cherry Pie Made Easy - With Homemade Cherry Pie Filling ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sTKLMjoHemQ.html

Unfortunately, the canning techniques you are telling people to use are both dangerous and unnecessary. I know that's how grandma always did it, but we have much safer techniques now.. Jars should not contact the pot you use to heat or water bathe in. A wire rack or some way to slightly lift jars off the bottom. Second, you should never re-tighten the lids down after removing them from water bath.. That could cause the seal to break, as well as turning the jars upside down. It isn't necessary since the lids are designed to seal when air pressure in jar is released. Many "old timers" would turn jams and jellies upside down thinking that it would heat the lid and help seal, but if the lid is going to fail, it will do so while jars are releasing the rest of the air while cooling down properly. They can seal but not properly.. 4:54 Among,other reasons, failed seals usually are due to; not cleaning jar rims, chips or cracks, or tightening the ring too tight. Refreshing our memory and boning up on the new rules and recommendations from the USDA is the most important thing I tell people, new to canning. I've been canning over forty years, and look up each year what new guidelnes they've put out. Please take time to learn the safety protocols for canning any food- and then enjoy the fruits of your labor!!

If you make cherry pie you usually cook the cherries and add cornstarch and a bit of sugar. There is a video for this on my channel as well
