In this video, I show you what is hands down the easiest way to set up tubeless MTB tires. No more using a hand pump or trying to figure out some way to dump tons of air into the tires. This simple trail tool can also be used to inflate tubeless tires for the first time. You should already have this tool for trail riding so why not use it for tubeless setup. For $2 per cartridge it worth saving yourself the headache from using a pump.

Awesome, thanks! Tested this yesterday and I will never waste my time on other methods again. 😁

I had to have a couple of tries because I hadn't made the inside of the rim slippery enough to begin with but CO2 cannisters absolutely did the job. And so much cheaper than a compressor. Yes, the CO2 will gradually leak out but that's true when you use it to inflate clinchers / inner tubes too. But if all you're wanting to do is to get your tubeless tyres to seat then CO2 cannisters do indeed seem to be all you need.

I've been wanting to redo my tubeless myself when i want...or go to bike shop...or but expensive compressor or charger pump? this seems cheaper and yes i have the pro version with the valve control. yes. i only want to seat n pop my tubeless then deflate and refill with air to my 22psi. did i miss something? great clear video bravo i didn't hear any pops to signify strong seating?

I have a compressor. And I had to remove the core of the presta valve to get my tires to seat. Wouldn't otherwise. It got me thinking of what happens if my tires are so low they lose the bead? Do I'm getting a c02 inflator. Thanks for the video!

There was a topeak one I saw on a Seth's bike hacks video that had a gauage but even without a gauge co2 is definitely a great tool

decent...think I'll buy one now

It's great for this but even as a replacement for a pump I think this is a better option as well. I have not seen any with a build in gauge as that would be nice but if you need this for a trail fix then tire pressure being accurate is the least of your concerns.

Did you inflate the stem using CO2, with or without the valve core still installed? Hard to tell from the zoom angle.
@gravitycheckmtb

Valve core installed. If you are using a hand pump you need to remove the valve core to get enough volume but these are so powerful it’s not necessary I found.

@@gravitycheckmtb Thanks for your reply. Do you know if most CO2 inflator heads can still seal around Presta stems that have their valve core removed?
@gravitycheckmtb
@gravitycheckmtb Год назад
The inflator is used to seal the bead on the rim not necessarily to inflate the tire. The problem most people have is that pumps don’t flow enough volume to seal the bead on the rim. Leaving the stem in is just a convenience thing. Remove the valve them, inflate the tire to seal the bead, remove inflator, add stem back in, inflate with pump now that tire is sealed to rim.

What size cartridge did you use to fill these tires up?

These are 16g threaded cartridges. I purchased them from Amazon and the brand is Pro Bike Tool.

It's way easier to do if you uninstall the valve core to allow maximum airflow!

Just a word of caution: CO2 will slowly leek through the tire because of its permeability. So you will need to eventually inflate this with regular air.
@gravitycheckmtb
@gravitycheckmtb 3 года назад
You’re likely correct. I guess in my video it wasn’t obvious that this is simply just to get the tire seated and that you should add air immediately afterwards.
@jeckyl556
@jeckyl556 2 года назад
@@gravitycheckmtb You should actually just seat the bead with a shot of CO2, then let it out and fill with air. The CO2 can ruin your sealant. Air is better, but CO2 absolutely has its place for seating and trail fixes.

Can i use threadless co2 with a co2 inflator tool ?
@gravitycheckmtb
@gravitycheckmtb 3 года назад
You cannot. At least not this one. It requires you to thread the Co2 into the top cap which punctures that can. Other may be different not sure.

Get a clip-on cordless microphone to eliminate the annoying echo and poor sound quality. Additionally, using CO2 with Stan's sealant can easily damage the sealant and, because of that, it's recommended to fill it at the 12 o'clock position (you stated this but turned the valve to 10 o'clock inexplicably) to keep it as far from the sealant as possible (most of the sealant will fall to the 6 o'clock position) and SLOWLY to reduce the freeze affect.

Wasted two CO2's trying this method. Luckily I have an air compressor and the "right" adapter. Put on the valve and let it rip, beads popped into place as expected. That's what worked for me. Thanks for the vid however.

These things are so bogus for the environment. So lazy. Unless a track pump won’t work or you’re in a race there is no need for these things.
