How to get PowerRename to put 1 through 10 let's say for the prefix in order. I have some files without numbers and I want to put 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. in order for each file. How can I do that? Please help.

Hey Pete, your video definitely has helped me out. How would I eliminate the first 2 characters of all of my filenames in PowerRename? Im trying to remove a 2-digit sequential numbering system that was auto-created with the file?

What if you want to add a numerical sequence at prefix of filenames - in the order you are viewing the filenames? I see you answered this in another video mentioning you cannot do this in powertoys but only powershell. In powershell how do you how do you do a search on finding the first alpha character (A-Z) and adding the numerical sequence prior to it? In summary, have a bunch of songs and I want them to sort on a USB by author/singer so they play by group rather than playing in defaulted alphabetical song name order. I've tried sorting on computer by author before copying to USB but it doesn't copy over as such. If you know how to do this, I may not need the numbers added, after sorting by author... but if you know both, better yet! Thank you.
