Doesn’t have to be as hard as it is portrayed. Have a couple correct tools and it’s simple. This video was made on a 2005 LR3/Discovery 3 may apply to the LR4 as well.
Hey friend. This actually help my dad and I a lot. Thank you. We used a 10mm ratchet wrench for the mount to frame bolt you showed. It wasn’t too bad. That hardest 10mm bolt took about 5 to 7 minutes to back out. We did soak all of the mounting bolts and the back sides of them with PB Blaster 1 day prior.
Nate, about removing the top bolt.... If you remove the bottom allen screw, the little bit of wiggle room helps at the top as well. Once that is done, you can access the top bolt with the 10mm socket on a 3/8" swivel, then a 3" extension before the socket ratchet and it really takes the work out of it. I used to use the closed end box wrench w/a ratchet, but the socket is much faster. Give that a shot next time.
I sometimes will use a small ~6mm (?) open wrench that barely fits over the air line to press the collar in. If you press the air line IN, then use the wrench to press the collar, you should easily be able to just pull the air line out.
Make sure you use the embedded tabs on the bracket to get it into place then hand tighten the two bottom screws in first. Once you have those two located then it’s much easier to get that last top one in
@@Lucas_007 oh I've since learned the secret! When bracket is off and separate from compressor, you cut a slot to the top hole! Put bolt in the frame halfway tight and slide the bracket onto it! Then it's just a matter of getting wrench on the head but no fiddling to replace the bolt with no space to work! I hope I caught you in time.
