East German Airsoft Loadout/Kit (Impression)(NVA) 

You have a absolutely great start into the Grenztruppen Impression. Some things I do wanna point out are the location of the AKM mag pouch and canteen. The AKM mag pouch should be placed between the front right suspender loop meaning the loop should be between the two gray straps of the pouch. The Canteen should be on the right side of the back suspender loop. I couldn’t tell if you had it or not, but you should get the collar liner for the jacket. The collar liner will save your neck from scratches.

Your "rucksack" is called "Sturmgepäcktasche" part 1 of 2 these can be clipped together hence the D rings at the top front and bottom back. Spade holder (as I call it) is correct but is an early version later changed to Strichtarn. Your magazine pouch is for the MPI KM so it has a curve, the straight pockets are for the MPI AK-74. What I forgot: There were different gas masks of the NVA, the GP-5 was called SchM 41 M (SchM means Schutzmaske), MM 1, the M10 and M10M which I have, the PBF, the SchMS for tank crews and or the PRWU also for tank crews. With the exception of the PBF and the M10/M10M, all 3 have compartments for mask, hose and filter, the other 3 only have 2 large compartments for mask, possibly spare filters and a gas protection poncho. Above/on the assault bag or without it comes the protective suit that was used in the NVA as an elephant skin or my favorite the full body condom. With the bags part 1 and 2 it is like this with one of the two comes the tent sheet and with the other the felt blanket including mummy bag/sleeping bag and in it are then eating utensils, field cutlery, macnhmal the canteen, spare socks and underpants, medicine, weapon cleaning (if you don't use the compartment on the magazine pouch), etc. what you need.

You could get an AK bayonet/wirecutter , hangs from an integral frog to the immediate left of your belt buckle, and a strichtarn/raindrop cammo zeltbahn, which folds into a roll, carried in an inverted U shape on the three loops on the top and sides of your small backpack. The gas cape and mask bag goes on your right hip, with the waterbottle behind. There is a strichtarn helmet cover with a face mossie net, doubles as a hood for your tunic, and there is also a strichtarn egg grenade pouch goes next to the bayonet, and a strichtarn holster for a Makarov.. The pack is small because DDR infantry were motor rifles, working from APCs, and carried light scales of equipment. Border guards carried binoculars and often cameras. Good impression, nice to see someone who looks the right age and weight to portray a conscript. Best regards.
