Good performance by Wang Zhi Yi. Similar to CYF but with better attacking play. If she handles the pressure of bigger tournaments well, she'll go far...and she will also be interesting to watch. Congrats to TTY.

WZI is certainly much younger with good physical/technical levels, but her young age playing 1st time with TTY seems to make her losing mental control and physical regulator... she should appreciate this great laearning opportunity from TTY.

today's and yesterday umpires are the same? they all need to go for vison or neurologic check before being qualified .

@Janus. Unfortunately the flight of the shuttle could not be seen, otherwise it would wobble had it hit the net.

@@MustAfaalik how would the shuttle wobble, when it was: hit so hard, hit the net a little below the tape first, before it went up and so close to the back line? If it didn't hit the tape, especially the top of it, first, it wouldn't wobble. Rewatch at .25 speed to confirm where the shuttle first hits the net. But even before that, Imagine how the shuttle would react when it hits the net versus the tape on top of it.

I was curious to see how much is gonna be, and i wasnt disappointed. Honestly thats how it should be at every major tournament. Whenever i see 1st and 2nd getting 20-40k $ i feel embarrassed. Thats not enough for the level these players play at.

TTY is usually too casual in her first game, and lost. That gave her lots of pressure in the next two. But I noticed that she also drained the energy of her opponents in the first game. In the end, they were exhausted and made mistakes. So that might be her strategy after all. Wang was literally exhausted after the first game.

For now. in 2 years, if Wang Zhi Yi continues to mature as a player, I don't think TTY (if she is still playing) will be able to beat her.

@@Dlbmst19 I like TTY. She is one of my favorite players...but the fact is: she is past her peak. Her prime was : end 2016 - 2019. She is still better than most players right now, but in 2 years time, and at the highest level of competition, she won't be able to beat a matured version of Wang Zhi Yi(who looks to me like she would be better than CYF).

@@janushomer9111 yes, of course, all players experience a decline. What I meant was that TTY at her prime is still unbeatable versus others' prime as well. While, like what OP said, only time can tell, a TTY at her prime could still beat a WZY at her prime (at this rate). TTY's technical skills are the best the world has seen. Though from what we've been seeing, WZY is really the one to look out for in this generation. Hoping we could see her in the 2024 Olympics.

TTY had a much easier draw and was able to preserve more energy than the Chinese players. If she faces those Japanese or Korean, it will be a dog fight. Her weakness is unforced errors and this will pile up when she has less energy.
