EASTER HARVEST | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (April 28, 2024)
Today is the Fifth Sunday of Easter; and the gospel narrates to us a conversation of Jesus with his disciples during their supper before his arrest, trial, and crucifixion.
Jesus used the image of a plant. He is the vine and his disciples the branches. To ensure their growth, the disciples must remain connected or attached to him. The Father also “prunes” the plant so that it may bear more fruit. Being attached to Jesus ensures the flow of life in them-as it is from the vine to the branches.
Friends, detached from the Lord, detached from the vine, the branches will wither and die. It is time to reflect: Am I bearing fruit? Which fruit? Am I fully alive? If you feel that there is a loss of energy in your life, it is time to check if we are still attached to Jesus the vine. We pray for the grace of being always attached to Jesus and to bear fruit of faith and love.

Being a worker in the vineyard may I proclaim that baptism is mere inscription of membership of the church.Nevertheless if the baptized cannot observe all His commandments he will be plucked out of the vine, he fails to remain attached with the true vine and cannot bear fruit.

I would imagine that giving funds for church is an act that remain attached to the true vine. Contrariwise the offerings for healing and eternal repose is the same as what the Jews are doing in the temple of Jerusalem during Passover festival where Jesus proclaimed I will die to prove that your way is not the way to the Father

For young people to remain and attach in Jesus,they shall perform their duty in the covenant with God. But there is no sense of purpose doing their obligation in the covenant with God because they are taught that they are washed by the blood of Jesus in his sacrifice in the cross

The collection of ofterings for the banal na mesa is competent evidence that the Catholic church do not remain attached to the true vine where the true vine died at the hands of the jews who were making the temple of Jerusalem a market place of offerings during the Passover festival.The true vine died and has risen to prove that the offerings is not the way to the Farher lord of heaven and earth

The death and resurrection of Jesus is religious battle against the Jews and their like and adherents making the temple in Jerusalem a market place.Tbe resurrection of Jesus is complete demolition of the Jews' religious ways.
