Love this pattern. I changed it up a bit. But it came out really well, I think. I digitized two separate sized blocks for my embroidery machine. That took longer than the actual sewing of the runner!

I work part time at JoAnn Fabrics. I had a customer come in and tell me she was making table runners. I was surprised at how little fabric she had me cut for each table runner. She told me about your pattern! I have some Jewish friends that I want to make table runners for. I have beautiful fabric that I really want the pattern to show through; it’s by Robert Kaufman and has beautiful dreidels, gold coins, etc. on it for Hanukkah. This pattern is just what I need! 13" x what ever length you cut (point to point) less seam allowances of 1/2" total

Hi Tamara ! I found your videos a few days ago and am obsessed- I have watched 2 of them over and over ! I want to make SO MANY of your beautiful patterns ! I am starting with the 10 minute table runner and I have a question- I am using fabric that has "squares" on it with little snowman heads inside the squares and I don't want to cut through their faces so if I did the inside strip at 10" instead of 9" would I made the other piece 20" instead of 18" to compensate ? I have had this fabric for years and don't want to mess it up ! Thank you SO MUCH for making these projects seem easy enough that I am excited to try them on my own ! Susan 💗

Hi Susan! I am so glad you have found my tutorials. If you don't want to cut into the snowman heads you could cut a 10" wide section for sure. But also remember to account for the seam allowance as that too will "cut" into the snowmen. Changing the outer fabrics measurements will end up adjusting the width of the boarder fabric. So if you want it narrower then no adjustments are needed. If you want the boarder to be thicker then yes, you would add some inches to the back fabric as well to compensate. I hope that helps. Another option is to cut the backing fabric a bit larger then needed attach it to one end of the center fabric and then turn it right side out to see how wide of a boarder you want before cutting it to the correct size and sewing the other seam. Hi Erin, you would just buy your fabric the length you want and cut the fabric accordingly. You will just end up with more fabric you could use for other projects. Like matching placemats☺️

Hi Susan. The measurements in the video should help you make the runner. I suppose the only measurement I didn’t give was the selvage to selvage. That measurement is often 42”. So your runner will end up around 41” in length when you are finished with it. Hope that helps, and happy sewing 🧵

I totally understand why you are asking because why would you need a quarter of a yard if you are going to cut it to 9" it kind of doesn't make sense to me. She didn't show with her fingers what dimension by what dimension when saying cut it to 9" high and the other to 18" high. Is WOF x 9" WOF x 18"?
