You meed to dry out the seed first, then it activates woth water.
@coolbians8259
@coolbians8259 2 года назад
@Ari Parker actually it depends on the specific seed. For example pomegranate needs to be germinated (left to dry out) and things like tomato and blueberry don't

With dormant seeds place them in a bowl of water for a few hours before you plant or germinate them
@hannahriv5169
@hannahriv5169 2 года назад
when my I want to sprout a seed I don't usually put it directly in the soil to germinate. I first wet a paper towel and then squeeze out the water so it's damp and then I put the seed on it and fold it up. Place it in Tupperware (plastic box with lid) or a zip lock bag, then wait. After waiting a couple days open the paper towel and look for a tail on the seed. If there is no tail or the tail is very small then repeat the waiting process and after a while you should get a nice long tail and then you can plant and water it. Make sure the tail is facing downward because that is the start of the roots! Good luck! I love your vision! 😁👍❤️

Hey, I grew starfruit, you may be having problems from things like: 1. Not drying the seed beforehand 2. The humidity levels in your area, starfruit trees don’t vibe in dry climates, they need that humidity! 3. Temperature and weather, they don’t like freezing cold climates that go below freezing point, it loves 70 degree weather though 4. Most starfruit seeds are dormant, so you have better luck growing from a small tree from a local nursery 5. The fauna in your area, namely, the tiny critters such as larvae and flies can easily cause some trouble for your seedling, it’s always recommended to keep watch of your seedling, once it grows over a foot it doesn’t need as much vigilance

Maybe you should try cleaning the fruit off of the seed next time, the extra sugars make it more likely to grow mold/rot, also try soaking it possibly? Sometimes it can help older seeds grow faster, but I honestly haven’t had much luck with it (I’ve only tried with avo seeds though)

I started germinating for this season in February. I was starting some calendula for my boss' chickens and a bunch of them never sprouted. So a month later, when I was sowing some broccoli seeds, I used the same peat pucks that didn't sprout the calendula. At this point I have been transplanting and hardening getting everybody ready for their forever homes. Well, 2 of the peat pucks never sprouted calendula or broccoli, until LAST WEEK! One of the 2 pucks that produced nothing (but had 2 broccoli seeds and 2 calendula seeds in it) finally sprouted out TWO calendula!! It has been about 4 months since I sowed those calendula! Never give up on life!!!

You may need to pop open the shell and pull the actual seed out wrap in a paper towel (the sprinkle cinnamon on it to create mold from not happening” and then wet the paper towel. When you then transport after it sprouted into the pot cut the bottom of a soda bottle and stick it on top to create a humid atmosphere.

Ok ok, good start but I’ll give you some tips as an honest man with no judgment. First step: let dry for about 12 hours Second: put in zip lock bag with a little bit of moisture like a spray bottle squirt until sprouts Third: plant in small pot and place a plastic bottle over it for humid environment Fourth: let grow until about 5 in” tall and replace pot with bucket or put outside in green house I’ve never grown anything like this but these steps usually works for most other plants also don’t water too much if you do you’ll know, Nats will be coming out of the plant pot soil and make sure it gets plenty of sun light when sprouted
