Hey mate just checking to see if you painted where you drilled in the valves don't want rust to start happening after a beach run. Well done on the install makes it very easy to understand the process.

Had airbags on my 99 Holden Rodeo, made a big difference. May want to mark valves L and R so you know which is which, if one side has less pressure than the other

Yeah I did them a certain way so I'd know but it's a good suggestion though as I definitely could do myself a mischief 😂 This trip so far the performance has been very noticeable and it was definitely worth the arvo I put in 👌😁

It is the first time I have seen the bags fitted upside down is that what they recommended ? Make sure you have enough line for articulation. I run 35 psi for a 350 ball weight and about 10 psi around town.

It's the way they did it in their short instructional vid so followed it with my own way of running the lines. Currently trying a second pressure doing some black top roads now to see what feels right but really impressed on the terrible ningaloo Rd trail which I never want to do again 😂

@@gettingaroundaus Thanks must be the correct way then. We tow 3.5 ton van with a ball weight of 350kg and the bags make such a difference they take the roll out of the car and stops the van bouncing the rear of the car up and down. Thanks matey.

So is there a certain pressure you need to use or is it a visual thing?
@gettingaroundaus
@gettingaroundaus 9 месяцев назад
It's recommended 15 psi around town so the bags don't go slack and pinch but from what I can work I think every setup, weight or situation would suit a different pressure (Max 60psi) The feedback I've had is pressure up to suit the ride height but I'll trial a few different pressures to feel what's right for us. Hope that answers your question mate 🍻

Do you know what the actual ball weight download is for your trailer when loaded up? I know you say the trailer is 2.4T, but what is the real ball weight you are getting?
@gettingaroundaus
@gettingaroundaus 7 месяцев назад
Not exactly no, haven't weighted in a while since we've done mods, apologies

All good. Was just interested to understand the amount of sag you were getting verses how close to it limits you actually run. I just recently bought a 2012 Pajero, but haven't towed with it yet.@@gettingaroundaus

@unistudent4596 yeah no worries, I do remember weighing and the gcm was 2950 so likely was pushing it

Suspension > Bandaid fix.....
@gettingaroundaus
@gettingaroundaus 9 месяцев назад
Do you care to elaborate mate? 🤔
@DT95WA

@@gettingaroundaus Well adding airbags to old sagging suspension is just a band-aid fix. It ain't fixing the fact ya old sagged flog suspension is just that, old and sagged. Replace the old factory stuff with some adequate suspension to your towing needs and use the airbags as required.
@gettingaroundaus
@gettingaroundaus 9 месяцев назад
Would you say adding heavy duty shocks with the airbags is still bandaid fixing?
@justinjones1226
@justinjones1226 9 месяцев назад
I would say replacing old sagging springs and shocks would be the right way to go, and add airbags for extra suspension with the trailer.
@gettingaroundaus

@@justinjones1226 yeah agree, that was done a week after this install. Maybe it was missed in the explanation at the beginning of the video, cheers for watching 👍
