Thanks dear brother for this video and I love your sincerity, I am a Mitsubishi Certified Technician, some of the issues need to be fixed by MITSUBISHI MOTORS. Please keep it up .
My Mitsubishi pajero sport had its hand brake linings completely worn by about 50 000km's. and I had to have it replaced. I do light off road driving, beaches and usually easy off road tracks occasionally. Mitsubishi refused to replace it under warranty. I contacted head office and wrote letters, but they only stated it is a wear and tear component of the vehicle and they refused any warranty talk. But Mitsubishi and the dealership mechanics admitted that it should last much longer than that and that it is very unusual for it only to last about 50 000 km's. It cost me about $700 to be repaired by Mitsubishi dealership.
Thanks for your input...I almost bought the same truck. Only because of your information about this mitsubishi pajero sport that I changed my mind. Thanks mitsubishi for your " COOPERATION " YOU LOST A SALE .
Definitely, No.1 for me. Time to research after market intercooler hoses. However, I noticed a lot of carbon build up in my intercooler when it blew off last time which is more concerning.
Agreed about the towing. There is no way I'd tow more than 2 ton either with a PS. When I tow a heavy 14ft tinny and 750kg unbraked trailer with the PS, it does it beautifully but when I tow a bigger boat on a 1500kg braked trailer, I definitely feel it on the back and whilst it does the job, it feels like it kind of struggles.
In the Philippines, EPB can be fixed easily now. U don't need Mitsubishi anymore. It's done by some mechanics here. Spending a little money for that. then erase the code.
I have a ‘17 pajerosport. Had my rear swaybar bushes replaced couple of months ago due to being worn out and more often knocking sound especially when going through uneven road. However i started to notice deformation after 3 months of use but no knocking sound yet. Prob the bushes are too “soft” or swaybars are indeed short. Great video. Am starting to get wary about my turbo hose too. 😂
Compared to the issues Ive read and seen on the MU-X these are nothing, truly manageable. I’ve been on the fence between the Isuzu and the Mitsubishi, trying to make the best decision possible. Thanks for sharing mate.
Here in the Philippines, it is not too uncommon to see issues with the alternator pulley going bust prematurely. Majority, including myself have not had this issue but it's affected many owners enough to be considered a common issue. Symptoms are squeaking and knocking sounds when engine is running even at idle.
@@T.A.G hmm our units here are also imported from Thailand. But it is quite possible that ours have a different alternator and related parts. Otherwise it can't be just attributed to coincidence?? Keep those videos coming!
Pajero Sport 2017 towing 2.5t caravan from Darwin to Yulara in 45+ degs no over heating issues what so ever. 16.8l/100 calculated using wiki fuel app and empirical data. The Incab fuel usage was out reading 17.4-18.3l/100, Also for those that want to know how far a tank can go, well I filled up 62.7 litres! I'm guessing it's about 5% reserve placing it at 63litres. Nice to know about the intercooler hoses, can't say I've had any issues, but might buy some spares now. My gripe is how soft the panels are and how poor the paint is on plastic. All my side steps are worn through where you exit the car. And the interior centre console has worn through to black plastic. They didn't sand the plastic parts. Because I've had one side of the car resprayed in a minor ding and the side steps have held up. I've got tonnes of seat belt dints as the kids jam the buckle in the door, never had that problem in my old Nissan no matter how hard I slam it! I can't see there 7 year warranty holding up. I only have the five, but can't be stuffed taking it back to fix the interior & side step paint.
Andrew re:paint my old triton was bad for that rubbing paint off so i just got a 2022 Pajero Sport so first thing i did is go to bunnings and bought some Gorilla Tape, it is thicker than normal tape and put a strip on the panels under the doors so you dont rub the paint off, then replace when needed.
too many robots in all these modern cars in my opinion, in the wet i can see where all the trouble will start,.appreciate your learned advice and will not engage the hand brake in a hurry either:) great vid as usual, you bloody beauty
Funny. I have had issues with Overheating and needed my handbrake system replaced. I am waiting for my custom off road bash plates to tear my brackets off! 😆
Im the UK and they call it the Shogun Sport over here, they are quite cheap to buy when compared to the Land Cruiser but after watching a few of these videos, I don’t think I would get one of these. Id probably get a used Subaru Outback instead. I don’t do off roading and I’ve had one of those before. If I wanted to go off roading I would probably just get a cheap 4x4 such as Fiat Panda or an old Suzuki Jimny or something.
Hi mate. Great informative channel. I was wondering if you’ve done or will be doing a clip on basic tools and parts to have in the Pajero to get you out of trouble. I’m expecting ours to arrive mid year and have no idea on sizes of spammers ect.
Pretty basic kit see you with most things you'll need. I have a bahco set I keep in the car. Has basic spanners and sockets of all sizes. Just add pliers and a hammer and you're done, might make a vid later :)
Very good and helpful explanation...I am the proud owner of a 2016 Mitsubishi Montero Sport (that is the way this SUV is known in Lima, Peru, where I live) and I am just starting to drive outdoors. I would like to ask if you know some internet pages where I can find 18" alloy wheels for the 2016 Montero Sport (aka. Pajero). We can import them, if needed...... I do not want to change to a smaller wheel measure but keep the stock tire. Thanks for the kind answer.....greetings from Lima, Peru....
I have a 2019 gasoline pajero sport. Driven more than 100k kms. Recently I found the left front side of the car is lower than right side. Anyone had similar issue?
Mate, will you agree with me that Pajero Sports shake a lot in compare to Prado and other cars of same size. I mean when you drive in city environments like in a roundabout or so, it tilts more which is a bit uncomfortable for passengers! Is it true that Pajero Sports suspension is softer in compare to Klugar or Prado or Landcruiser? Would love to hear from you more mate.
I can't say ive been in too many others. But the pajero sport came 10x better after the lift. The ride is heaps smoother, better and handling has improved tenfold
AUTOMATIC BOOT! have a pajero 22 since Feb and done 21k with a bit of medium off roading with no mods other than roof rack, awning and draws, pretty much straight away I had issues with the boot not wanting to close after even light off roading. I keep having to push it shut which I know is bad for the motor but I can't exactly call for a roadside pick up out in the middle of the Bush. At the service they tried resetting the boot settings but I still get an issue probably once every weekend im in the Bush. The automatic boot has just been a complete liability. Has anyone else had this issue?
Hi.. is it a bad idea to buy 280000 kms driven 2009 model pajero sport (challenger)? Iam from Australia. Is pajero sport costlier to maintain and hard to get spares? Can anyone please help me.. Thanks
Would the 6th most common problem be the shudder at 1500rpm regardless of what speed? Have seen a bit on the forums about this and have it myself atm. Thinking about investing in a trans flush and hoping for the best, failing that chucking in some additives. Have you come across that yourself?
sorry to ask, the car is the same as in the video, if the rpm is high idling around 1000 and using AC it becomes 1200, what is the problem? thanks in advance 🙏
I have been looking for a second hand pajero sport. So far I have seen 4 cars all 2018+, all of them have on the front tow point. One has some sign of initial rust on the c section. Is this normal? I have never owned an offroad car so may be that is common for these types of vehicles?
Yep. But what it's rated tow and what is realistic and safe are 2 very different things. Asking a small 2.4l to tow 3.1t is possible. But at what cost? Reliability, towing more almost double the cars tare weight is stupid, the little 2.4 is already highly strung just to get the power it has. Let alone ask it to push the weight of the car and pull an extra 3t
I like the 2003+ V6 3.8L motor versions we have a few of in the USA. I have two with over 225,000 miles, all original, no rebuilding. I've had all previous generations also, with high miles. They are better than Toyota, Nissan (way better), USA brands, and any European competitors I've driven, tested or owned. One thing to do when present ASAP: remove the secondary intake butterflies that are in the intake plenum, or fasten them with permanent thread locker or via welding. I just remove them as they do nothing. From factory, they commonly come loose and damage the cylinders or valves, around 135,000 to 160,000 miles, some sooner. Ask me how discovered this? 😆 And spray any bushings with coconut or similar food oil, and suspension bolts with light anti-rust oil once a year. Will save your ass in climates with salts.
Yep, good summary thanks. Its a great wagon and very capable if you use it within sensible load limits - its not a heavy V8 truck. On the whole it is well designed and well made and great value for money but that Electric Parking Brake is such an obscenity - why would they do that?
2021 3.0 V6 in Mexico. It's a beast, obviously not the same torque as from the diesel one. I've not seen an overheating issue, went mountain running full of people an gear at 108°F and just heard the fan running more. I want to install ironman shocks and coils but what happens to the headlight adjustment?
It's a shame you yanks didn't get the Toyota landcruser v8 4.5 turbo diesel 76.79. 200 series v8 diesel music and the Mitsubishi Triton very reliable Ute's compared to American Ute's just junk in Australia and that's fair dinkum mate
Just experiencing the infamous cracked exhaust manifold on my 2017 Pajero Sport, just out of Warranty as well. Totally cracked through all the way around, symptoms were loss of power, sooting around the manifold, increased full usage. I think we have caught it before any serious ongoing damage of secondary issues have emerged. DPF Filter and down pipe coming off for an inspection and clean whilst the access is gained to replace the manifold. I believe this is a casting defect across Triton and Pajero Sport. 138000 Klms of highway driving, minimal towing and regular LOG Book Servicing didn't save my Paj. Worthwhile for others to note as there is multiple heatshield and baffle plates that hide the exhaust manifold making it hard to inspect. Cheers Dave
I have a Pajero Di-D 32cc, its been running 50+km, I feels pulling power is lost as compare before, could any body share this kinds of problem and what would be process of solving fault.
The electronic parking brake module/actuator design is rubbish, the gear seized dues to plastic gear with metal axle and plastic with metal bushing, the metal bushing would build up abit of rust and it will squerze the gear and axle, its an easy fix, just wd40 and sand paper, and dealership dont wanna admit it
So I watched this, as the wife says hers has a small clunk, I checked the rear rubbers, sure enough. Ballooned out and cracked and chipped. Looks like someone has a new job to do 😅
Thanks for the videos. I have contemplated getting a plug in scanner to keep an eye on all the numbers with mine but it really doesn't get used hard enough to warrant it imo. Overheating anything alloy is a scary deal. Just booked mine in for a 60k service even though it has done 30k and it is $1260 due to having to adjust the valves and some other stuff. Damn that was a bit more than I was expecting. Oh well it's only money.
Lovely videos I’m in joining them and I’m deciding to purchase a new M Pajero here in Oman 🇴🇲 2022 model , Thanks to your comments and explanations. I would like to ask you. When have you start experiencing these issues with your Mitsubishi Pajero please?..
