At almost 50, I have watched many videos on blush placement and have honestly never seen anyone explain it like you did! I absolutely appreciate your tips! Off to watch more of your videos! 💃
Wow!!! Thank you sooo much. I always struggle applying my blush and never saw this 2 finger technique!!! It is definitely a game changer for me! U are stunning!!!
Thanks so much Debra. 🥰 It's such a simple tip but very effective. The only exception to this is if you're doing a natural-flushed-look makeup (popular at the moment) in which case the colour choice is very important to avoid a 'clown' effect. 🤡 You may also enjoy my Instant Eye Lift Trick Video too. I use this trick all the time. ru-vid.com/group/PLg5Fhi6ofZqJYAmuTcoungGR3Ttge3G38 Have a wonderful and safe weekend 🌸
This has been super helpful, thank you. I’m 55 and naturally very lean-my face has gotten so thin in the last year that I have really struggled with “how” to best apply makeup in a way that doesn’t make me look like Skeltor.
Hi Caroline. Oh I'm so pleased this has been helpful. I totally understand the lean effect on the face. When I was younger I was leaner and blusher positioning was super important. Now my face is kind of plumper but everything is dropping forward and down. Oh the joys of it! 🤣🤣 So this blusher application technique provides a lovely lift. Wishing you a lovely weekend. Sheena 🌸xx
My absolute pleasure Anna. I'm so glad this was useful. I really should consider another name for the technique right?! 🤣 Wishing you a very happy New Year. Sheena 😘
I’ve been applying blush to my chubby Apple of cheeks thinking it made me glow. Now I see that at my age, makes me older and look like a clown. 🤡😂 Thanks for another amazing tip! Your eyes are absolutely stunning in this video.
🤣 Well I do appreciate the giggle hun. I know exactly what you mean though. A really really light wash of colour over the apples of your cheeks can be ok but its a fine line. Applying per this video definitely gives the face a lift. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Sheena 🩷😘
I’m so happy I found your channel and the timing couldn’t be better. My husband and I are attending a formal event in 4 days, so I’m binge watching your videos and practicing like it’s the first time I’ve ever applied makeup, THANK YOU! I’ve struggled for almost a decade to find my “new” and correct locations for the overall application of makeup for my age. You explain and display in such simple techniques that it’s easy to get it right in no time. I no longer have to flounder, remove, flounder some more and, well, you get the picture. I actually do wind up appearing like that clown you mentioned. I truly appreciate you for doing this.
Hi Beth. Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a lovely comment and binge on my videos 🥰🥰. I hope you have the most amazing time at the event. How exciting to dress up, put on heels and go out....And thanks for the 'clown' reference. This did make me giggle 🤭So happy to be of help. I know it can get very tricky with makeup and I've found even small changes can make a huge difference. 💖
thank you so much for this tutorial! I just rediscovered blush myself and recently purchased my mother a beautiful blush to share the fun. I wanted to remind her that its never too late to play with blush and feel and look fresh faced & effortlessly glamorous.
Awww Leandra. How gorgeous buying your dear mum a blusher to share the fun. 💖It really does add the most beautiful and healthy flush of colour to the face. Enjoy. 🌸
Thank you so much for showing us this technique the correct way on how we apply blusher, i have been putting it on wrong for all my life !! As i did not know about the two finger technique. I have liked and subscribed to your channel. 💕😊
That’s a super demonstration. It was only when you put the blusher on the apple of your cheek that I could see just how much it brought your face down. I’ll definitely have to stop doing that. Thank you 🙏
Thanks so much. Subtle changes with makeup can have a big effect. Shortly I demo a fabulous way to lift your eyes with a great makeup trick. Have a wonderful day hun 🌸
Thank you for your informative knowledge on correcting how too blusher application. I dont wear alot of makeup put I love blusher for a pop of colour like you said going south not for me going through menopause uou just have to find what works for you. Natural makeup look would be great for a video as I used to do full makeup but now my lifestyle has changed so I do a minimal look. Your makeup is on point. Take Care. Come in from Beautiful Macedon Ranges Victoria Australia.💜🌻
Hi Rita. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch this video. I'm so pleased it was helpful. I love blusher too. It gives the most amazing healthy flush of colour. Honestly on a day to day basis I wear a very natural makeup. I will definitely do a simple, natural makeup video. Thanks for the suggestion. Take care and have a fab weekend. 💖
Thanks so much for the feedback Barb. I'm so pleased it was helpful. I have done some makeup tutorials and for sure have lots more planned. If you have watched any of my other videos, can you let me know if they are not detailed enough. Have a fantastic week. Sheena 🌸
Hi there...Ha ha...Yes it becomes more important when we get older to place makeup correctly. Every little tip helps and I'll keep them coming. Happy Saturday to you in sunny California from sunny Auckland 💕
@@leeanneburchell7053 Oh I'm so pleased. Thanks for the feedback...I really try to explain things well. These little 'technical' tricks can make a huge difference. Enjoy your day hun 🌸xx
Hi Peg. Thanks so much for watching my video. Yes sorry I should have put it in the video description...Which I have now done 😁 The Blusher Laura Mercier : myshlf.us/p-118984 And the lipstick is Charlotte Tilbury : myshlf.us/p-125639 You can pop to my Shop List to check out other products I love : shoplist.us/thebeautyprotocole I hope this helps. Have an amazing day. Sheena 🌸
Hi. Thats a great point. Essentially for this technique don't bring the blusher right onto the apples of cheeks, these tend to drop as we age, and keep the placement correct on the cheek bone. Good luck. Let me know how you get on. Sheena 💕
Thank you for this video. So I wear a liquid blush and now I will always use the two finger method lol but I just supply my highlighter right above my blush on my cheekbone? Thanks a bunch❤
Hi Susan. Oh yes I love creamy blushers so much. They are amazing on mature skin...Yes the method name is a bit dubious 🤣 and yes apply your highlighter right above your blusher on your cheekbone ❤
@@TheBeautyProtocole Thank you so much! I’ve been doing the blush technique that you shared, and what a huge difference it makes in the shape of my face!💛
@@TheBeautyProtocole I gave it a try and I see the difference. I wasn’t putting my blush far enough down my cheek. I guess I was doing the opposite of too much 😊😜
@@heathmeizer9446 🤣 I can tell you its all trial and error. So pleased this worked well for you. Blush is so important to give the face colour and a healthy look. Have a fab day hun 🌸
I don’t like putting my blush there as an older woman because when I smile, I have smile lines and feel like it makes them more prominent with blush when having high cheekbones.
It can be tricky to avoid hitting the smile lines and having blusher too low which drags the face down. If you use cream blusher this may help but do whatever feels right for you. 🌺
Thank you it’s very help full I have wrinkles near my nose means blush area when I apply blush wrinkles more visible and it’s look like a clone. Plz suggest what to do.
@@TheBeautyProtocole just your bare face. Let me c all that u put on your face before the make up goes on. Than the makeup. I think I might b doing it all wrong. Thank you in advance☺️

Hi Wendy. How annoying is that? Sorry hun. I've corrected it and put the link below 😊: go.shopmy.us/p-953004 The eyeshadow palette I am wearing is From Too Faced (here's the link) go.shopmy.us/p-139469 - this is a fab and easy palette to use. I also have a new favourite palette which is by Tarte (here's the link) go.shopmy.us/p-930956 - and you can see me wearing this through my recent vacay posts @beautyprotocole on Instagram if that helps. I LOVE this palette. Wishing you a wonderful 2023. Sheena ❤
Hi there. The blusher is by Laura Mercier in Colour: Peach. This is great if you have a warm skin tone. The brush is an old Lancôme one but I can suggest Zoeva brushes ...I have a few of these and really like them.
Hi Brooke The brush I use is so old. Oddly, specific blusher brushes are hard to get. The link below takes you to my favourite brush list. I would recommend the Huda brush. I like a fluffy brush and I squash it sideways (if that makes sense) if I want a more precise application. shoplist.us/collections/15064 Enjoy your day. Sheena🌸
Honestly I don't have cheek filler. They are all mine. It's just lucky. I suspect the plumpness originally lived higher on my face and now its drooped to create plump apples. Who knows but they are not filled.
The light should be even the right side of your face already has a little smaller eyes and a smaller cheek than the left side. Both sides are gorgeous, but the light exaggerates a lot.

Yes absolutely Annie. Botox can be useful to smooth the skin by treating wrinkles. I've worn sunscreen for years so fortunately don't need much very often.
