Thank you for the chutney tutorial. I also have an apple tree which gives most generously. I have held apples for many months in my fridge crisper drawer, each fruit wrapped in newspaper. (Bit harder to find these days.) The wrap allows the apple to breath yet isolates the individual fruits in case one goes off. The old adage is true- one bad apple will spoil the bunch.

Frog spirit. Transformation, progress, to build on a loving foundation. Good times around the corner. Home is where the heart is. Love this energy. Perfect timing.. Time to make some chutney.

Looks a lovely chutney. Will have to check if my apples are ready soon and hopefully make this chutney if I have time. I did make a similar chutney some years ago and it was very nice. Well done on growing subscriber numbers AJ.

Thank you. Going to give it a go. Sounds/feels very like my Nana's recipe that is lost to time. From my earliest memories I recall her chutney as a condiment on every festive table.

How long does this take to mature please?

Hello Linda. You can use it straight away but I find it's much better if you leave it for a few weeks before you open it. It keeps for ages as long as you don't open the jars. The batch I made was delicious when we used it over Christmas. Thanks for watching. Take care and stay safe. AJ

I am making this chutney as we speak. I didn't have coriander seeds but put in half a teaspoon of coriander powder, and had no peppercorns so put in half a teaspoon of chilli flakes. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks.

Tastes nice fresh and no doubt will improve with maturing. It made 5 small - medium jars so that's great. In Wales we are in lockdown so I'm going to try and get some preserving done.
