Grew up eating these in Rural Wisconsin. Prune and apricot. Ate til we popped! My grandma made them from scratch. So many wonderful memories of these. Haven’t had one since she passed away. This is something I can try for this Christmas!!!

My sister-in-law from Texas taught me how to make kolaches from scratch and we rolled Texas Sausage in our dough and we also made the fruit ones. I like the way you did it better, because the hard part is already done. 💕 I've been sitting in my kitchen watching your videos for 5 hours now and I have 5 more to go. There are sooooo many recipes you have I want to check out before I take a break. Your husband should come on more often, he is funny.

I saw the title and I was afraid I was about to see little sausages make an appearance. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! These are actually “kolaches”. The ones stuffed with little sausages and cheese are NOT kolaches. My wife is Czech and it drives her nuts that people call sausage rolls “kolaches”. I tell people that calling the sausage stuffed ‘rolls’ kolaches is like taking a bunch of sausage biscuits to your coworkers and telling everybody “I brought danishes for breakfast.”

I agree Coy Stark. I never heard of meat in Kolacky. I am Polish and my cousin makes them from scratch. Nothing like this.

@@nancyoleksy Yes, to be correct a kolache is sweet. Czech immigrants in Texas started filling the kolach dough with sausage and called it klobsnek. It drives a lot of the Texan Czechs crazy when people say “sausage kolaches”

My great grandmother was Czech and settled here in Texas. I remember helping her make homemade kolachies many years ago ... Saw your video and rushed out to get everything I need. I'm going to be baking up some with peach flavors today! Can't wait for that taste of childhood again. I know they will turn out fantastic cuz I'm already addicted to Rhodes rolls with my meals. Thank you for sparking the memories and giving me the this idea.

I was thinking.. Just in time for my children's visits in a few days. I was thinking one of those with some piping hot coffee or spiced cider, with the peach ones. Who am I kidding.. I took the rolls out of the freezer last night and put them in the fridge to thaw. I'm about to take them out to rise so I can start filling them up. Can't wait! I think this will be a lovely breakfast.

I had a dozen rolls so I made 6 peach and 6 cherry kolaches. I had found Fruit Toppers made by Lucky Leaf and one little container topped 6 rolls. They were great because the fruit was cut up small and fit perfectly in the kolaches. Overall a great success! Again, thanks for sharing.

My grandmother made all flavors. Some always with the fresh fruit and with pie filling sometimes with Jams. I learned how to make fresh bread rolls and then completed them.
