Easy Balancing the Sky-Watcher Az GTI 

To balance the AZ, you put all the equipment + weight. Then in the bottom 3/8” you screw a hook and then you put all upside down and put a cable to the ceiling:) Then you move the weight until it’s horizontal… this is very precise

Ho un problema.. con l'app synscan ho provato a fare i movimenti manuali e si gira correttamente per esempio se premo il pulsante a sinistra sull'app. Se premo il pulsante a destra invece sento il motore che fa il movimento ma la montatura resta ferma... che tipo di problema è? Anche un mio amico che ha appena acquistato una eq5 ha lo stesso identico problema... grazie mille se ci darai una mano, mi sono guardato praticamente tutti i tuoi video, grazie 🙏

Hey Andrea, your video series on the AZgti have helped me out alot. I have a couple of questions relating to guiding. I cant seem to get my dec to work properly, I use and EQmod cable. Mind sharing your guiding settings or any insight on that topics :D Thanks

1.- Set the polar axis to 0º (or as close as you can); 2.- Release the RA clutch; 3.- balance with the counterweight; 4.- returns the polar axis to its original position. One minute setup.

Hi, great video, can I ask, is that an ADM saddle on your Az Gti? I just got a dual saddle and the adaptor plate goes on fine but the actual dual clamp onlt affixes vis a single centre bolt? There are other tapped holes in the clamp and it is supplied with two bolts but only the centre hole aligns. Just trying to find out if this is correct before I go ahead and clamp my scope to it. Thanks.

A quick way is to weigh each side on some bathroom scales and with the distance from the ra axis to your optical axis, the counter- weight distance is given by the moment: dist_cntwght * mass_chnwght = dist_ota_axis * mass_ota

if the max payload is 5kg, I can put a counterweight of 5kg on the other side and that's ok?

Hi, great vid, can I ask where you got the weightbar fom please? It is a great industrial thickness, I know it has an M12 thread on it.

Maestro can you please explain how to fix stiffness so that the AZ GTI doesn’t unscrew from mount? I had a bad accident last nite where the mount came unscrewed and fell !!!! Is there also something software wise to avoid this happening??

Avevo letto di un giapponese che aveva fatto un adattatore per la porta RJ del AZGTi e volevo vedere se trovavo qualche schema in giro per costruirmi qualcosa. Per la polare come hai ovviato? Ahimè manca il cannocchiale polare, va adattato un cannocchiale polare con un supporto 3D? tu come hai fatto? Grazie

Hi Andrea, thanks for the video and your explanations! I have the AZ GTI and use it for observing right now, as well as for doing some very basic "Astrophotography" with my smartphone. In the future, I would like to but it into EQ mode and start with astrophotography (as explained in your other videos, thanks for that as well! :) ) So a very beginner question: Do I have to take the weight of the counterweight shaft and weights into account for the total weight I can but on the mount? So can I but approx 4-5 kg on the mount + counterweights, or is it 4-5 kg max including the counterweights?

Ma quando metti il supporto a coda di rondine sotto, in pratica non va a toccare il cilindro mobile? voglio dire se si blocca sotto avvitando la vite a 3/8 fotografica sulla filettatura sotto della AZGTi, questa come fa a muoversi. C'è qualcosa che mi sfugge. Forse la fa muovere tutta in blocco in pratica?

Ho visto che hai l'ASIAIR, puoi fare l'autoguida con questo senza porta ST4?

io avevo lo Sky Adventurer ma non mi piaceva tanto, lo vedevo come un oggetto del passato, con la motorizzazione solo in AR e poco comandabile. Ho preferito passare da poco tempo su questa, più carina, più compatta e più integrata con ASIAIR, Stellarmate, Astroberry, PC ecc... inoltre ha la motorizzazione in Declinazione che non è poco. Manca il cannocchiale polare ma ci si può adattare qualcosa in 3D o anche laser.

un altra cosa che non ho capito è come sia possibile che con la montatura AZGTi si riesca a fare astrofotografia visto che supporta un carico massimo di 5Kg, ora nelle altre montature equatoriali si parla di non più del 50% da caricare tra OTA, telescopio guida, telecamere ecc... mentre qui si va quasi a toccare il limite dei 5Kg. Boh. Ok il contrappeso ma
